Loving the KingVal 4600kv 2440. In hindsight, thinking the Hobbywing motor shaft snapped before tagging the curb and my daughters car. The gears sounded rough and she couldn't slow down before impact 😱. Regardless, the stock ARRMA grom pinions are very smooth by comparison. Pairing the KingVal motor with ARRMA gears seems to be the ticket so far. Planning to try the 6100kv on 2s soon 🍻
The fit on the motor shaft felt looser than I remembered with previous RR mini pinions 🤔. I think there's a bad batch on the market. Heard too many viewers comment they experienced similar problems.
Kingval motors are really good got one on my mojave grom and on my maxx slash 1720 running a 26/46 tons of torque with no heating issues you should try one on your 1/7 1/8 scale launchers they also got a big can 56112 and 5690 for the 8s rigs
@@richduperbash2966 that thing is a rocket! And the durability is crazy surviving the skatepark with the huge air you was getting with it lol, I’ve had my mojave grom for a couple of weeks and enjoying it with the stock system, I’d love to make it brushless and run it on 2s 😊💪🏻
Thanks Donnie 🍻. The stock system isn't bad. Super smooth no question. Brushless is more fun with the extra power on tap 🚀🚀. If you want to stay with 2s, I'd recommend considering the KingVal 6080kv 2440 paired with the Hobbywing ESC. Just swap the stock pinion and let her rip!!! You'll also need a receiver, but the added performance is worth it.
Thanks so much Brother Dennis 🤗. This little NASCAR rips brushless and handles awesome!!! Props to Losi/ARRMA for building another tank truly engineered for speed and scale performance. I had to dial the steering rate down because she's so responsive 😂
Yes indeed Brother 😍. They're affordable, tough, and easy to wrench on. The stock brushed electronics and SLT2 controller with easy switch throttling limiting are perfect for kids and entry level RC enthusiasts.
Iv had great luck with kingVal motors.i went with the 2845 5900kv a little bit bigger motor shaft and a little harder to find pinion gears but iv broke a number of the smaller motor shafts.i run 3s on the kingVal 5900kv and it runs nice and cool.
Hey Rich. There may be more than one option but my castle has a 3.2mm or 1/8th inch shaft. I snapped my shaft first run when I put hobbywing motor sadly. Makes pinion options a challenge with only one company making a pinion that works with the gears. hot racing. It's been flawless with new motor. 4400kv castle
That's awesome Brother 👍. Hot Racing has made some great upgrades through the years and are very reasonable most times. I'm shocked my Mojave and Typhon Grom have kept trucking with the Hobbywing setup despite getting completely sent at the skatepark 😂. I honestly feel like there's a bad batch of RR mini pinions out there that result in a slight wobble. Regardless, 2mm is very small for a motor shaft. Appreciate your input my friend 🍻
@@richduperbash2966Yes there is a batch of RR gears out there that seems to be quite wobbly and even brittle. Ran Hobbywing 2435 on a Typhon Grom with it and I had to change it once every two weeks because it's breaking like chalk if you bash it too hard (or fast). Changed to a Surpass 2440 motor with stock pinion gear and all is good. Best combo would be a 2435 with the Losi Mini B 18T gear.
@@danielc5191appreciate your input Daniel 👍. It's disappointing about the bad batch of gears. Machining requires constant quality assurance to keep exact specs. I'll no longer buy mini RR pinions.
Super fun road ripper 😍. The Mojave is a bit more versatile with the longer shocks, higher ground clearance, and bigger treads. They're both awesome rigs. Not sure on the buzzing 🤔. This rig sounds different with the Eagle slicks constantly ripping too 😂. The body is quite open on the inside vs the Mojave which probably affects the drivetrain acoustics. The mesh was far improved with 2nd (KingVal) setup. Sounded and felt much smoother.
Going with a higher amp ESC usually assures maximum power potential from the motor, particularly if the ESC is a limiting factor. It shouldn't make the motor run hot. In general, bigger ESC's are heavier. The weight penalty isn't justified if the smaller ESC is doing the job. It could increase speed, but not necessarily.
I run those king Val systems in all my groms. Some 2s. Some 3s u really can’t beat it for the cost. And if u break it it’s only 35 bucks I don’t have a nascar yet. But probably gonna way over power it to when I get it.
That's awesome Brother 👊. Wasn't sure about the KingVal ESC because I'd read some reviews talking about a delay 🤔. The Nascar is built for speed no question 😂. Super impressed with the handling and attention to detail with her design. Aftermarket electronics drop right in no problem 😍
@@richduperbash2966 u know what. One of mine does have a delay on it. Maybe like a little half second on the first go. But not after it’s going. Definitely does that tho. Other 2 r fine tho

Randomly saw a post on FB that mentioned some of the 2mm RR pinions don't have a well centered bore. How did yours look?

@@richduperbash2966 How did you get your 4600kv kingval to work? Mine wouldn't even move even after I calibrated it.
Love running my rc’s in front of people that never saw a real hobby grade in person, another great video brother 👍👏
Thanks so much Brother 🙏. The teen skaters at the skatepark were shocked how fast and durable this little ripper actually is 😱

What an awesome skate park ripper bro😳… great little build👍🏻
Thanks so much Brother 🤗
great run RICH
Thank you Brother 🤗. What a fun little ripper!!!
My micro scale RC racing buddies and I are watching this car, it offers a chassis for at least 2 classes of cars. 👍🏻
That little sukker was buzzing like a Bee😂😂 leave it to Rich to make a good rig looks like a MUST HAVE with your skilled driving....just nuts bro😮😎🤟

Hobby wing fusion mini 16 has the 2.3 mm shaft and works great in this car mine is running around 86-98 degrees stock pinion and gearing.
Kids love the Grom series, great entry level option from @arrma !

Thank you Avery 👍. What an awesome durable design. Super fun with 3s brushless😂
That thing is crazy fast. I love it 😂😂
Yeah she's a ripper with this brushless setup 😂. They did a killer job with the design 🤙
Yep, broke the shaft on mine too. Hobbywing and Castle. I got a king val motor and no problems!

Looks like a fun car! How does it compare to the Mohave? Also wondering if the buzzing sound is from the driveshaft being longer

Is that skate park with the full tube still open? Love to see that thing do a complete loop
Yes it sure is 😱. I'll get her there sometime soon 🚀🚀

If u changed the esc to 60amp. And nothing else. What would that provide? Would it increase speed or make motor run hot or......?
