I had to go into Google Maps and clear the cache like someone earlier wrote. And that's finally what worked. Even though I had to do one more search on my car to get it off of that GPS screen
After deleting the history thru the settings of you Google account, you can actually go to the settings of your phone, then go to app management, go to app list, select maps then clear cache, and lastly clear data. After that one, go back to your Google map then the history is gone. No need to uninstall. 🙂
You can't uninstall Maps on certain devices. There's only a disable option, which doesn't delete your search history. I can't find a way to clear the data!

For those that can't uninstall, I uninstalled the updates then updated again. Cleared the whole history.

Clear ur cache & data by long pressing maps, app info, storage, clear. It deletes the recent search

Instead of reinstalling the app, you guys can clear its data and achieve the same result
totally sucks, on google search there's an X to delete a search.. But on google map there is none ?
