Superman giving up his powers for just being Human (mortal?) is the coolest thing so he could just be the way as he is and not the way he was supposed/everybody expected him to be. For him to be on the farm chopping wood and punching Lex Luther.Other than that the scene was pointless it was a glorified cameo to get viewers that’s it. @@anthonyanguiano5348 I disagree with you. The Kara Zor-el /Supergirl by Melissa Benoist is defently NOT RUNNING IN THE Supergirl arc. The basic is alrady wrong. That makes the whole show totally wrong. Laura Vandervoort´s run into the Supergirl /Kara Zor-el arc. She has also another thing in advantige. She has the second degree black belt in karate whith means she can fight in real and in show´s. Laura looks more interesting and hotter. Laura Vandervoort is the best Kara Zor-el/Supergirl there was, is and ever will be. Even Melissa can´t hold up to her.
I saw season 1 of Supergirl and I really liked it. I thought Melissa Benoist was relatable as Supergirl. I thought the characters were interesting and overall very good season. Laura Vandervoort while not bad was totally wasted on Smallville. They hardly did anything with her.
God I really hate how they toned down the heroes and villains. Lex just looks like a flimsy 90s metro you'd expect to be yelling at barista not super villain. Arrowverse's superman looks like he was drained by a vampire and never once went near a sun. Shame Tom hates his old role so much would have been awesome if he was on supergirl part time. I swear it's like everyone has to look scrawny next to arrow...
It's the current political climate - especially in the media. Men are to be shown as weaker, less capable, and feminized - also emotionally driven . The arrowverse is the epitome of that. The only exception to this rule is if the male is a minority. Take a look - Tom welling is from a different time - bigger, taller, stronger. The arrowverse version is weaker, emotionally driven, feminized and sidelined behind supergirl. That's why Tom Welling stands out so much - because if they were to portray superman correctly that's how he would be. Of course they removed his powers and made him weak and emotionally driven for the sake of the script but hey, can't fully get rid of the man there
I loved smallville all those years ago and seeing Tom welling as ck was nice. But I do feel shafted by this. After 10 seasons of watching him come to terms with being a super powered alien refugee, all the “it’s my responsibility “ and “Lana cannot know but Lois can”, we find out he gave up his powers in toto. That was such a shit on the face.
I agree I feel like I got cheated out twice in the finale of Smallville and in Crisis. Idk why they don't put him in the finale of Smallville. Some say it was his decision
Krypton853 Yeah, true. If memory serves, I believe it was Tom Welling who wanted it that way so that the entire smallville saga would be about leading up to Superman. Therein is my point tho. 10 seasons of leading up to Superman only for us to find out that he gave it all up anyway.
@@dineshsaimenon9246 so what happens to Darkside Brainiac and the other power house villian that can take over the Earth anytime did Smallville Clark took care of that I wonder 🤔
I'm honestly torn between the decision they went with here. On one hand it is ridiculous for him to give up his powers only because of the protection they provide. On the other hand, if he had to give up his powers to have children that wouldn't hurt Lois during her pregnancy then that makes sense. In reality this was probably made up because Tom never wanted to put on the suit and he was probably done with major roles as Clark. Although it would have been nice to see him in the Superman suit fighting to save the multiverse, I respect Tom's decision to not want to tarnish the Smallville legacy with what has become of the CW shows.
As somebody who loved the early seasons on Smallville, its kinda sad to see Clark and Lex be so hateful towards each other. I mean get thats how it goes in every version of Superman, but there was aomething about their freindship in the early seasons that was really special
after all the people who died protecting clarks secret he goes and removes his powers. this was a slap in the face. now ill binge watch the real series to forget this garbage
But how do you know that he won't get them back in the canon of the universe. And you'd already know that he did MANY superman feats in season 11 before he eventually makes the decision to get rid of his powers if you read it. I don't get why he can't choose to live a normal life for a while since Darkseid and Zod have been defeated, and he's been superman for almost a decade (maybe longer in-universe) already
Clark must be thinking "What a weird universe. They have a really short Lex and a skinny no muscle Superman" Also I could swear that newspaper at the beginning that read 'I spent the night with Superman' is from The New Adventures of Superman. Also any Superman would simply move super fast and knock Lex down and rip up his little book before he could move.

@@Knightfall182It's dark in the womb.
Perfect would have been Molly Ringwald walking right up while Lex was talking.
Yo I just realized Tom welling has the correct height for Superman
Since Superman is 6’3”
Rough is also close at 6’2 and superman wears boots so an extra inch would make him 6’3 as well
I like how they show Clark could've just casually beaten Lex Luthor, and chose not to. Without his powers. Like, it wouldn't even have been close.
I find it funny Lex does not realise his Clark is Superman
What season and episode is this on? Please and thank you.
Welling lives in the gym . Def best of all the Superman . Stayed true to smallville but the 10 seasons were about him accepting jor el and his destiny
To everyone who saw this live when it aired in 2019 or in 2020. Do me a favor and analyze/watch this clip from 3:36 - 3:38.That Scene with Clark looking at the distance have you ever seen it because I saw this exact clip on HBO Max and this video that is old and never seen that clip in my life. Was wondering if it is Mandela effect.Anyways someone reply back to me,would love to here from you smallville fans that have seen this episode many times like I have.
Todos amamos esto
How long has this been back???
This scene ruin Clark most important lesson in the series
It’s amazing how many people like this yeah it was nice to see Tom after all those years but what was the point? For him to be on the farm chopping wood and punching Lex Luther.Other than that the scene was pointless it was a glorified cameo to get viewers that’s it. It amazes me in today society how people get so worked up for this few minute clip In the grand scheme of things meant nothing. And as much as I like Tom Welling as much as I love Smallville he could’ve put on that damn suit one time for all the people that watch every single episode especially in the last couple years when it really got bad you could’ve done it for the fans that’s what pisses me off
I agree 100 percent.
This amazing man played super man for like 10 years😭the other guy used to be a mean werewolf 🤣
ABSOLUTELY 💘LOVE IT!!
You go Clark👍 He got the girl, Lois, & a beautiful family to boot.
...& he doesn't have to be Superman anymore!!😊😊😊
That's what you get Lex!!!😜😜
I wished he had more of a role in crisis like some fight scenes even without out the suit
1:12 he made a face like if you are Lex Luthor then i am a kryptonian kkkkk
Would be nice if the Kara Zor-el/Supergirl (Laura Vandervoort) were in that scene !
No! She was a waste.
@@anthonyanguiano5348 On second thought you are right. Laura Vandervoort were then a waste. She is so much better. She was, is and ever will be the best Kara Zor-el/Supergirl of all time. I wish she is it again in Man of Steel 2 or in the Supergirl movie Kara Zor-el/Supergirl.
Disagree. I think Melissa Benoist is the best live action Supergirl.
He is so handsome
Ow huge volume increase at the end there.
Of course they removed his powers and made him weak and emotionally driven for the sake of the script but hey, can't fully get rid of the man there
@@Nowheretorun7 I mean in superman and lois the writing is pretty good but I guess you wouldn't have known that a year ago so nevermind
Big sad he isn’t superman anymore in this
How long of a time jump was this after the smallville finale
Same amount of irl time
I loved smallville all those years ago and seeing Tom welling as ck was nice.
Krypton853 Didn’t put whom in the finale?
@@dineshsaimenon9246 We NVR seen Tom Welling in a full Superman costume in the finale just glimpse
What episode and show is this from??????
I hope they do the same with Batman. Have all the actors from different universes appear. Keaton, Bale, Clooney, Conroy.
Crazy !!!! CK . Best superman everrr
I really liked this scene
friendship day
As somebody who loved the early seasons on Smallville, its kinda sad to see Clark and Lex be so hateful towards each other. I mean get thats how it goes in every version of Superman, but there was aomething about their freindship in the early seasons that was really special
We need to get Tom in a Marvel movie as Wonderman
You're not Lex. You're Alan Harper
after all the people who died protecting clarks secret he goes and removes his powers. this was a slap in the face. now ill binge watch the real series to forget this garbage
Im watching the series fully for the first time, season 5 episode 13, been forever
Also any Superman would simply move super fast and knock Lex down and rip up his little book before he could move.
it was so awesome to see it!)!!))
@ 1:08 he sounds like michael rosenbaum for a second
Why did they use the shirt rip open picture for the newspaper article? Doesn't that sort of give some things away about the secret identity?
Which serie is that?
Would've been nice to see both Clarks race each other around the farm Flying of course no suits needed just powers
Did anyone not notice that bald headed guy was the one who played as Alan Harper in Two and a Half Men!
The thumbnail still photo makes Tom Welling look more like Frodo lol .
This is what I could find,
This clip is from a 5 episode cross over event "Crisis on Infinite Earth's" on CW
I am unable to say which episode this clip belongs to at this time.

so how exactly did he give up his powers?
If you look at his watch their a blue object in it. Its theorized thats blue kryptonite which turns off his powers when its nears
@@degeneratesupreme860 this is interesting, i knew about green and red kryptonite, had no idea blue , gold and white existed as well, read up on it, apart from deactivating a kryptonians power, the effects of green kryptonite are negligible in its presence, now it makes more sense.
