  • Based in Dorset in the UK, Monkey World is the largest monkey and ape rescue centre on the planet. For nearly three decades, the team has saved countless primates - across 20 countries - from lives of cruelty, abuse, and neglect. This safe haven is now home to more than 200 monkeys and apes. The dedicated staff never stop in their quest to save animals from being mistreated by owners, ending up in laboratories or being exploited in the entertainment industry.

Ben's mother Peggy passed away the following July 2018 in the same way as as Ben, being the condition was genetically linked.

      Spoiler Alert! So you’re “not” an animal expert or better yet, a primate expert but, the primatologists, doctors, scientists, veterinarians, keepers, and people who have spent their entire lives dedicated to primates shouldn’t continue to do what they’re doing because you knew an alpha male would attack Ben. An “alpha” male. That’s his job as alpha to test the chimps in his territory and his troop. That’s why he is the alpha! He was aggressive towards the female chimp Patricia the same way(as shown in this episode)when she first arrived and now they get along great. As said “he’s even shown her his softer side,”as he’s shown grooming her. But above all else, this program was filmed over a decade ago.

    This is exactly how he would of reacted in the wild. Alpha male chimpanzee’s are super aggressive to males that aren’t apart of their group. They aren’t making him act this way on purpose, he’s acting on his natural instincts and they know that. They are keeping him as wild as possible so those instincts will stay. It’s unfair to domesticate wild animals and completely get rid of all of the instincts they have just because it doesn’t look pleasing to humans. Sorry but that’s just how Mother Nature works, it’s brutal but it’s the reality.

    • @ritamccomas9271

      That's impossible to take the wild out of these wild animals as it is deeply engraved in their genes. They have never been nor ever will be domesticated. They will always react with their natural instincts no matter how hard humans try to take that away

    • @shellos8
      @shellos8 2 года назад +1

      Exactly. The only thing that can be considered abnormal is that they're in captivity. Monkey World rescues many of them from being pets or ENTERTAINMENT. They are given the best habitats and opportunities to be as wild as possible. Nobody is trying to change or repress their natural instincts. But they do need to monitor the behaviors and interactions and make any necessary adjustments.

    Technically CO2 gas IS HARMFUL. The reason it is used as a fire extinguisher is that it removes or displaces the oxygen which is 1 of the 3 components necessary for a fire. If a person is exposed even a to small amount breathing becomes difficult instantly.

    You would think that these chimpanzees would be kind to each other since they didn’t grow up in the wild. So where is all this aggressive behavior coming from? And this whole alpha male situation. They are from labs and other types of captivity. I think 🤔 several of these chimpanzees have mental health issues, they’ve been through so much. Having a baby in the group is really difficult because they don’t really know anything about living wild or parenting. That large so call alpha male has mental issues, I mean he can’t even survive in the wild by himself,yet he’s attacking others? Separate him,because he really is a danger to the whole troop, he’s unstable. Not from living in the wild and asserting himself amongst of males in the troop in wild. But amongst poor chimpanzees that have been abused, abandoned and tortured. And he’s one himself! Remove him, haven’t they all suffered enough? USA 🇺🇸
