    About 80% of the I-11 signs have been changed east of I-15, but hardly any have been changed west of I-15. There was just an article saying they expect all signage changes to be done by next fall. I haven't read anything about them changing mileage markers to reflect I-11, but you're right, they should do that.

      Both I-11 and US 95 should be signed. If the NV DOT removes the US 95 signs that would create a confusing gap.

    • @danmarsh5949

      @@johnhblaubachea5156 Yes. East of I-15, it's long been signed I-515/US-93/US-95. It's only I-515 that's going away. West of I-15, it's still mostly signed as only US-95, but the signs should say I-11/US-95 when they're done. It's an open question what will become of US-95 whenever I-11 is complete to Reno (no time soon), because there will be hundreds of miles where there's no need for the US-95 designation. Maybe they'll make it discontinuous, or maybe they'll rename the part south of Vegas as something like US-595.

    Todd, it was surprising to see that I-515 has been decomissioned since I-11 took the freeway portion as it passes through Las Vegas. Let's hope it extends to connect Reno. Lastly, in Paradise, NV, in memory of one iconic casino and hotel, Tropicana Las Vegas. Because of that, it'll be replaced by the new baseball field of the A's.

      @@CrystalClearWith8BE taking I-11 through the central corridor on US95 (and decommissioning I-515) was the path that made the most sense. the other 'logical' one was putting I-11 on the loop that will completely be converted to I-215 at some point.

      Having just come back on from Chiricahua National Monument ( _highly_ recommended!) to Phoenix a couple of weekends ago, they definitely need one bewteen Sacaton and Texas Canyon. Yeah, Tucson is right there, but they could definitely build one north of Tucson to fill in that gap. Otherwise, the distribution isn't too bad, as between Burnt Well and Sacaton, I-10 is basically running through the Phoenix metro area.

    US 95 from I-10 to I-40 in California has some of the steepest ups and downs I ever encountered on any, and especially, US highways. They would definitely leveled more of the roadway if they built it these days. You'll definitely feel momentarily weightless and airborne at times. It's been a pretty long time since I drove this route so I wonder if some of it has been improved since California acts like Blythe and Needles are major cities when it comes to control cities lol so they should have a more modern connector highway, right?

    • @dhinton1
      @dhinton1 Месяц назад +1

      and that most certainly IS US95's mileage from the California/Nevada state line. in fact, I-11 carries US95's exit numbers from the I-215 interchange onward, as I-515 (the freeway that I-11 is now on) carried US95's numbering too.
      from what I read ..... Nevada WILL NOT renumber the exits for I-11 while it "overlaps" US95. bcuz I-11 is the newer route, it will just carry the older route's (US95) numbers.
      I-11 would be about 55 miles from the Arizona border at that point. US93 splits off from I-11/US95 at I-15 in downtown Las Vegas and heads northward from there.

    12:33 believe it or not this part of Nevada/ Oregon is big for land sailing on the lake beds and racing in the Spring/Summer so a lot of temporary tourist residents in the area in RVs and such. Winnemucca has a bunch of dry lakes just north of it and Lakeview is the biggest city in the Alvord dry lake area with the county only having 8,000 permanent residents. So for a niche crowd so as a secondary it's not horrible.

    Idaho also makes a big deal of Lewiston since it's the state's only port. Yes, really! Landlocked Idaho has a port, so it doesn't come as a surprise to me why the Lewiston to Boise corridor is well signed.

    The only reason Barstow CA is even signed is to get your kicks on Route 66

    Lake Pend Oreille isn't too bad to pronounce. It's "Pond Or-aye" Northwest places love to have strange spellings 😂

    16:55 at one point US95 did very briefly enter Washington for just under a mile before US195 was extended in 1977.
    I’ve also been wondering, would you ever plan on doing a US26 video?

      I think I will do US 26 at some point. I love covering the western roads, and the concurrencies with 20 could help reduce the workload on eventually covering that beast lol
