I really do love the way this looks with your color scheme. Even without the backpack and weapons, this looks like an intimidating suit. Makes me wish the zaku actually came as a standalone kit without the backpack.
Nope, this has new pieces for the head, chest, skirt armor, knees, lower legs, forearms, the arm mounted shield, and backpack I believe. They look very similar, but there are a few differences part wise.
Gotta love that chug when you had the full fuel tanks. I love the BIG BOI tank. It basically allows the entire kit to double as some kind of club type weapon.
Much fonder of this color scheme than the original. The intimidation factor is there instead of being gaudy looking with all that goldish trimming and bright red. Nice job Zack!
This is incredible. I only wish this was the colours as standard. I don't own an airbrush yet or the skill to do it. Great job, always enjoy your videos.
This is by far my favorite of your completed builds! I’ve been working on a 1/144 scale Zaku Thunderbolt and I can appreciate how much work goes into building and painting all the weapons and those huge fuel tanks. Good call on removing the shoulder spikes, looks way better like this!
I really like the color choices, great rollout stuff without it looking like a primer coat. And dirt/dust-covered weathering makes perfect sense for the kit, it operates in the Thunderbolt sctor after all.
That look really good. Just looking at the Thumbnail I thought it was a new kit. I was like dang I'm getting that kit for sure.... guess ill have to build my own :)
The color scheme is very rezel type C -ish. I Like it ^^. Btw Has anyone build the Mg strike rouge ootori rm, or the build strike or even the normal strike rm? Want to get a Mg strike and the descision is Hard (rouge and build Are the top contestants) how thight is the frame? My Only Mg is the gm sniper II and its joints arent really loose but move a Bit too easy (Imo) and I have a Mg Unicorn Comming so I need a nice and thight Kit to recover from that wobble Monster ^^
I have built the Strike Rouge. The joints for the legs are great and the arms just a bit less so but still quite nice! The only complaint I have is that the hands don't really hold in the sword that well but once it is in position it should be ok if not just glue the hand piece to the back of the hand and that should fix it. Really fantastic MG! (oh and the white is off white with just a very light touch of pink far from a big deal just a bit off from the way it should look)
I'd love it if you'd do a painting tutorial where you show all your recommended brushes, first timer recommended colors and painting techniques to make model kits look as official and well made as yours
Damn impressive; that's one swanky looking kit. Ironically, I actually dig the more "stripped down" look without the huge bulky backpack to the fully equipped look, but either way, it's a really, really great paint job. I wish mine came out that smooth and polished. One day! haha
Epic paint job man. And good move getting rid of the shoulder spikes, it looks super clean now. O I think u 4got to list the paints you used. I really want to use this paint scheme. Great work man.
Weather it dude! The colorway you curated on this kit is insane, I think it is TRULY begging for weather man. You could totally nail some NAOKI--style light weathering on those corners Zach! I've seen some of your more recent weathering attempts and I really believe you don't have the heavy-hand weather-curse that so many of us suffer from. I just love your take on this Hyphy Zak so much and It's really great when you document challenging yourself whilst taking it to the next level. u rule homie! Just an idea! Keep it up b!
Hey ZA, can i ask for some advice? I'm planning on doing a custom zaku of my own based on the MG Johnny Ridden v2. I'm looking for a good big-huge shield to give to it, do you have any tips where to look? The Kotobukiya shields don't quite satisfy my tastes.
Hey Aurelius, when you say you applied a filter to get the weathered space look what do you mean? I would love to try this with a few kits i'm working on and if you could explain this it would really help, thanks!
Omnibus there are a few blog posts and RUclips videos covering it if you search about Gunpla or just plamo filtering. I know Clem has one on Gamera Beanre
I really like the effect of the lens and mono-eye when the light hits it from different angles. how you do that? I would love to try that with one of my builds some time.
Jesus the size on that third fuel tank, how is the stand holding that up? anyway good job on painting/customizing the psycho zaku, I hope I become that good
Do you apply any top coat of mate for your finish? Just bought this today and I dont know if mate paint is enough. Thanks in advance! Ps: F*cking great work!
Nice. Digging the colour choices (never liked the red/brown). Now, what happened to the Hi-nu bust? I'll buy the joint covers off of you by the way, if you don't want them of course.
ZakuAurelius I've just taken delivery of mine. No idea when I'll get round to building it though considering what's in front if it in the queue. Bit that's what I say about every new purchase. That queue just keeps getting longer. I also don't snap up kits before I'm intending to paint them so I'm drowning in kits at the moment...Oh for some self control.
Nice! I especially like the lighter bright orange you used to break out from all the white and grey. It's a refreshing change of orange compared to the standard orange the kit came with.
Ah, man! I’m glad I rewatched this one. Your color scheme gave me some inspiration. That got me out of a roadblock. Thanks Zach!
Glad to hear it!
I really do love the way this looks with your color scheme. Even without the backpack and weapons, this looks like an intimidating suit. Makes me wish the zaku actually came as a standalone kit without the backpack.
MuShinnen that would've been cool if Bandai did release a basic version~ then people wouldn't have to shell out 100 bucks for the kit!
MuShinnen yeah they should release the standard zaku thunderbolt version...
MuShinnen MS-06R-2 J RIDDEN ZAKU VER 2.0 is not same model without the backpack?
Nope, this has new pieces for the head, chest, skirt armor, knees, lower legs, forearms, the arm mounted shield, and backpack I believe. They look very similar, but there are a few differences part wise.

What a master piece. Your color choices are beyond excellent
as a Zaku fan and lover i have to say i felt in love with your Zaku !! great job !!
DANG! That looks amazing!! You killed it Zack!
valokiller2788 thank you!
The colour changes were a 100% improvement over stock ones.
Well done on the 1000 part MG Zaku , all 12 Lbs of it.
Another stunning job, Zack!
Love the paint job!
The decals really look great too!
The work paid off! Looks great man. Good job :)
MythicalMonkey thank you!
I really like how clean this model is. Nice work.
Color Customization at its best! Cheers Z.A. For sharing this with the world ✳️
Gotta love that chug when you had the full fuel tanks.

God if I ever get into painting my kits I'm stealing this scheme for something... Looks incredible!
Wow! I wish I could paint like that! Good Job!
Bert Lobertas you can! With a little practice!
My wife just bought me this kit. I'm a lucky guy!
This is incredible. I only wish this was the colours as standard. I don't own an airbrush yet or the skill to do it. Great job, always enjoy your videos.
That motor in the display stand was giving it all its got.
As a fan of military esque color schemes A++ job dude.
This is by far my favorite of your completed builds! I’ve been working on a 1/144 scale Zaku Thunderbolt and I can appreciate how much work goes into building and painting all the weapons and those huge fuel tanks. Good call on removing the shoulder spikes, looks way better like this!
Thanks! Yeah the spikes are a little too pointy on this design
I really like the color choices, great rollout stuff without it looking like a primer coat. And dirt/dust-covered weathering makes perfect sense for the kit, it operates in the Thunderbolt sctor after all.
This kit definitely needed the new piping covers you used. Looks great.
TekkaSage thanks!
WOW man i'm so jealous ,this is so awesome ,you did a great job .
Anthony Aiello Aiello thanks!
Thats too sick one of the best Zakus ive seen
looks awesome!!! really feeling the music going along with this kit!
Dude this came out really friggin good! the color combo looks so much better and i agree the spike removal was a great idea
Very very nice colors choices...really like this one,not that the others werent good, but this one appeals alot to me.
That look really good. Just looking at the Thumbnail I thought it was a new kit. I was like dang I'm getting that kit for sure.... guess ill have to build my own :)
Colors remind of the one from cosmic era! 😍
This is so inspiring man! Fantastic job!
The colors are so good.
The color scheme is very rezel type C -ish. I Like it ^^.

Steffey I actually did look at the Rezel C as one idea for reference, so I definitely thought of that as well!
dacrewhimself0 ty ^^
I've built the RM strike, it was a nice build, I would deffinetly recommend it
I'd love it if you'd do a painting tutorial where you show all your recommended brushes, first timer recommended colors and painting techniques to make model kits look as official and well made as yours
Impressive. Did you forget the paint list? I'm not seeing it in the description.
Tsorovan Zero it's added now!
Super Nice ZakuAurelius! Great job!
EPIC!!!! Love what you did with it!
Damn impressive; that's one swanky looking kit. Ironically, I actually dig the more "stripped down" look without the huge bulky backpack to the fully equipped look, but either way, it's a really, really great paint job. I wish mine came out that smooth and polished. One day! haha
*wobbling intensifies*
Great work, thanks for sharing
Awesome color scheme
fantastic job. really nice
By meaning space dirt you mean space dust effect, also the colors are quite catching. Nice job!
Looks amazing!!
Chris Anthony thank you!
As much as I appreciate the original anime colors, I prefer these subtle neutral colors and hints of primary color you chose, nice work!
Iok Kujan approves this color scheme! haha JK. That backpack looks amazing!
Epic paint job man. And good move getting rid of the shoulder spikes, it looks super clean now. O I think u 4got to list the paints you used. I really want to use this paint scheme. Great work man.
Brian Wood paint list is added now!
TRULY AMAZING
Looks so good my dude keep up the cool work
Caiway .H thanks dude!
Any tips for sanding off nub marks?
What kind of modifications did you make to the knee joints to fill in the gaps?
Impressive, looks very good
i really like that subtle weathering. Any advice on doing that?
Couldn't identify the color for the subarms on the backpack.
So sick!!!!
When painting a model like this do you prefer to build it first then go back taking the model apart to paint or paint as you put together?
Weather it dude! The colorway you curated on this kit is insane, I think it is TRULY begging for weather man. You could totally nail some NAOKI--style light weathering on those corners Zach! the shoulder spikes are not hollow, so you can cut and sand them down without any consequence, right?
Alice Jibija check the manual scans on dalong.net to see how the parts go
like, the INSIDE of the shoulder spikes
just WOW!
Looks amazing:)
what do u use for air brushing I want to get in to air brushing myself
She's a beaut.
Awesome!
Hey Aurelius,
when you say you applied a filter to get the weathered space look what do you mean? I would love to try this with a few kits i'm working on and if you could explain this it would really help, thanks!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
@zakuAurelius Nice work man, where do you get the film for the mono eye. Thanks in advance
How do you even pose this on a shelf?!?
What are all the songs you used in this video, including the opening?? Thanks!
How many days did you spent it? Start from building to painted.
good job man
Kamille is a girl name
Rammsteiner KAMILLE IS A MAN'S NAME, AND I'M A MAN!
Taco. Wampa Kamille is a vegetable.
also a qt boi name uwu
*Bright slap*
Rammsteiner *Mika pistol*
I really like the effect of the lens and mono-eye when the light hits it from different angles. how you do that? I would love to try that with one of my builds some time.
Daaaamn putting in work zack good shiet
9999% amazing 👏👏👍👍😎
Beutiful!. Do you do commissions
Jesus the size on that third fuel tank, how is the stand holding that up? anyway good job on painting/customizing the psycho zaku, I hope I become that good
really impressive
just question about the knees and elbow was it your first choice and what color would you do besides that color?
I was also considering using blue, sort of like a Uma Lightning custom
that would look cool
how to do panel lining on painted parts? If we you use enamel thinner to remove the ink excess, is it OK for the painted part?
i thin enamel paint for the lining, then clean up with lighter fluid!
ZakuAurelius I see..So you didn't use Tamiya Accent?
Nice painting job
Great scheme!
awesome!
Very cool
the filter is so subtle and nice! how did you do it? what color?
Jon Yusko just thinned enamel, a dark brown/gray color. Brushed all over and then wiped off right away
so kinda like a gunk wash?
What beat is this and is this downloadable?
Looks great man!
What did you use for the clear lens on the kit? Monoeye and gun sights?
hi zach, really nice color your chioce! i like it so much
So it's a slower version of the original Psycho Zaku?
Do you apply any top coat of mate for your finish? Just bought this today and I dont know if mate paint is enough.
Thanks in advance!
Ps: F*cking great work!
Did you repaint ?
Levan Fuu use this ?
Nice. Digging the colour choices (never liked the red/brown). Now, what happened to the Hi-nu bust?
I'll buy the joint covers off of you by the way, if you don't want them of course.
Monty the Desert Rat already trashed the cover plastic sorry! Had to basically destroy it to get it off most areas.
Monty the Desert Rat as for the Hi-Nu bust, that's in my to-paint stack! Haha
Sad times. Looking forward to the Hi-nu when you get round to it though.
Do you still have your ACE Deep Striker?
I do! but it's such a shit kit. I'm planning on kitbashing it with a Racaseal Redria kit ;)
The colour scheme is amazing! I am in awe of your work.
Nicholas Ong ehhh process of elimination! I thought about all kinds of color schemes!
Nice! I especially like the lighter bright orange you used to break out from all the white and grey. It's a refreshing change of orange compared to the standard orange the kit came with.
What's the song name? Sounds kinda like Flume
Zaaroci "hang ups want you"
Thanks, it's a good song. Also dig your kit!
Nice work! What airbrush did you use?
XxbeyblademasterxX Iwata Eclipse
ZakuAurelius Thanks!
Woah that's awesome! Did you do this just to do this or as a commission?
Awesome indeed.. i really like the paint scheme! 😀
also what's the song title? really good choice of music too!
Did you repaint the zaku bro?
Whats the name of the song used towards the end of the video?
Tokyo1995 "hang ups want you"
The colour scheme is kinda similar to the ReZel Type C General Revil, from Gundam Unicorn
how did you apply the space grime?
dark brown/grey enamel paint brushed over the armor then wiped off right away.
Cool! thanks!
Cool! thanks!
Hey Zak, what colour do you normally use to weather your kits?
Also: Great job, man! Love the color scheme you chose, suits this kit perfectly!
M E for this filter I mixed up a dark brown/grey color
wow!
