Yep. A dev told me at one point they considered adding a tower defense game to chapter 4 before conceiving of Goolf and This Way Up which would’ve been cool
There was also a planned World of Goo 5 that had levels made, but went unreleased. It was getting the goo to flow into the pipe at a certain rate, but it was cut because it didn’t work as intended. You can see some footage in trailer 1 at the end though.

I'd say this one is the most different from it's original game version. The only obvious similarity is that they're both computer/digital related.
