@@zebra_carpetyt8949 speech-synthesis screen readers are common and usually a go-to, as are electronic refreshable braille displays. There are also special visual settings like contrast and screen zoom, for those with incomplete blindness.
I was temporarily blinded for three months due to arc eye, and got to try a friend's braille display. It was an Orbit Graphiti Plus. It had a grid of 60 by 40 multi-height pins in what's called a multi-line display. The speed you learn to "see" in your head with depth is really shocking: It took two weeks of practice, but I eventually learned to see that way. I've also heard about the Canute Console in Bristol, which is really really impressive and so much more affordable ($20,000 for the Graphiti, vs $3000 for the Canute). You can draw on the Graphiti and shade (its for pictures), but the Canute is faster.
Open source projects like OpenBraille can often get the price down by nearly 90%, thankfully. Usually screen-readers are better, but if you're working on something like a document or programming, a multi-line display is helpful.
