I consider the 2 animated seasons to be the final 2 years of the Enterprise's 5 year mission. The only thing missing was a revisit to the Mirror Universe.

1:11 Top green ship ... Martian ship from the 1953 "War Of The Worlds" ? Next to a green version of Brainiac's Skullship from 1983? (Roddenberry predicting the future again!)
Star Trek the animated series along with Star Trek the Original Series , Star Trek the Next Generation , DS9 and Voyager along with Enterprise are available through Critics Choice catalog and website . Yes these are the original actors voices for the Animated Series of which I own a set of .
The I.K.S. Klothos!!! IN ACTION!!! I gotta try to customize a model of this ship!!! Notice the colour patterns on the ship's markings? Green & Yellow Trifoil, Red ship's registry numbers!!! Time to try to get some custom made water-slide decals!!!
I’m odd in that I dont particularly like cartoons (dont hate them, but just dont prefer them to live action or typically enjoy them the way most people seem to). That said, I think this is wonderful and very close to capturing the unique feel of original Trek! A 4th Season the original series would of course have been preferred, but since we didnt get that, this is a nice close second! It’s intriguing how my two favorite 1960’s SciFi series - Trek Original and Dr Who 1 & 2nd Doctor missing serials - both have animated episodes but the circumstances that led to them are about as different as could possibly be! :-)
I disagree with what sktty said about the Bonaventure being the first starship book warp drive but it could be the first ship with that design and the reason for such large lettering they are using magnification...
That's actually a really great idea. If Paramount was smart they would jump on that and falsify a few documents to make it look like they planned it before you commented.
Actually, Gene Roddenberry was quoted as saying EVERYONE in Starfleet is an officer, regardless of rank. The use of "sir" would not be out of place, but probably not done often when addressing those of lower rank.
@toSTONEiGO Yeah the tone of their voices does kind of sound like they're all sleepwalking through their parts. Well as someone mentioned this came out back in 1974, maybe someday we'll get a Star Trek anime series, weirder things have happened.
I think most of the dialogue on this show was recorded out of sequence, from lists of lines that didn't give context--a fairly common technique in cartoons of the time. It made it hard for the actors to act, since they couldn't react to each other in the studio.
@@captin3149 well the guy who invented CRISPR just got released from a Chinese prison...and I'm pretty sure those kids are gonna be the wrath of KHAANNNN! Errr I meant...space seed. Genetically superior human beings.
The trefoil was on the original filming Klingon ship miniature, as well as Klingon script. The AMT plastic kut, released while TOS was still in first-run airing in the late 1960s, was patterned directly from one of two essentially identical miniatures built for the series, and had those decals included.
That's because Star Trek: The Animated Series was written to be a continuation of the original series and most of the original actors and writers from the original series were hired to work on Star Trek: The Animated Series.
This is one of the worst cartoons I've ever seen in my life... everything about it, from the plots to the animation is just wretchedly horrible. But then again... this show is from Filmation, which is probably one of the worst animation companies in all of existence, so it's no surprise to me that they made this giant turd of a show.
I consider the 2 animated seasons to be the final 2 years of the Enterprise's 5 year mission. The only thing missing was a revisit to the Mirror Universe.
They did have the mirrorverse .
You mean the cool universe
Check out "Star Trek Continues". It's literally season 4 of the original series!! Outstanding quality!!
They really did a good job animating the Enterprise
"There are ships here I've only seen crude drawings of."
Aye, on a TV show, the name escapes me.
"Pictures in a video-sharing platform!"
lol!!!😆 🤣 😂
well it is Filmation
That closeup on Spock's eyes. Lol
EPIC EYEBROW MOVEMENT!!!
Spock is very, very concerned. Can't you tell?
Filmation animation was defiantely the best in the early to mid 70's you can thank Lo'real cosmetics for pulling the plug on them.
L'Oréal is dead. Long live Filmation!
I love how unenthusiastic Kirk is when he yells, "Fire..."
Other peole have said that they were cold reading their lines, & that some short often repeated phrases were recorded once & reused whenever needed.
Kirk: "Report, sir!"
Sulu: "No response, sir! There's no indication of damage."
I'm sure he meant to say 'Sulu,' but 'sir' came out instead....lol
Very creative episode....An excellent Voyager episode was a similar premise.
I was so happy when the Animated series came out! Too bad Chekhov was not on the series.
He was also NOT part of the MEGO Star Trek characters action figure releases in 1974, but WAS part of the re-release of the action figures in more recent years...
Spock: "Captain, in order to get out...I have a plan. Let us do the time warp again."

Glad I Got the DVD with All 22 Episodes.
I don't remember seeing all the episodes of Star Trek. Thank you for this video 💯💖💗💚♥️💜💙😎😍👍

THIS WAS AIRED IN 1974. Stop complaining
It looks good to me but I'm old enough to remember when the episodes were new. The music kicks butt and is better than the original in some cases.
Who's complaining. It's just as good as it was back then.
heh, heh. heh, I love the way Kirk always says si-vi-LIE-zation
coming to Blu-ray this fall
Hope you do animated movies of this from the comic books in the books of Star Trek
Wow is this iconic.... epic, I wish I was stoned this would be crazy to watch!
Let's do, the time warp AGAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!
I could totally see the sound bites from the animated series being put into cgi canon episode of tos

It seems like Kirk was so embarrassed about the phasers not doing damage, he chose to beam out of there.
"crude drawings" made me lol. Cause they literally are.
And when Spock's brain blew up from the illogical poofing of Kirk
Adult Swim needs to get the rights to edit this series.
I disagree with what sktty said about the Bonaventure being the first starship book warp drive but it could be the first ship with that design and the reason for such large lettering they are using magnification...
@ShinobiGarth The ones who appreciate classic TV american animation without foreign labor & modest bugdets--that's who.
I would love to see full episodes.
I want a model of the Bonaventure lol its a cool derpy looking ship
The animation needs to be redone and CGI. Then released, that should bring new excitement to this series ...
That's actually a really great idea. If Paramount was smart they would jump on that and falsify a few documents to make it look like they planned it before you commented.
I love how it takes 5 full seconds for Spock to react at the end. Then it's anger.
Wish we had the TAS Bonaventure as a model and or as a ship in STO.
Is me...but at 2:17 mark...did Kirk say...'' Report sir ''?? if so, why calling Sulu '' sir ''?...lol
Actually, Gene Roddenberry was quoted as saying EVERYONE in Starfleet is an officer, regardless of rank. The use of "sir" would not be out of place, but probably not done often when addressing those of lower rank.
Showing respect that's all.
It's a mistake. The script probably read, "mister", which he often called Sulu or Chekov when being peremptory.
2:14 I'm sure Kirk meant to say 'Report Sulu,' - lolzzz
There is a Voyager episode like this as well
Someone does not know how to use wikipedia... let me look that up for you.
Ran 1973-1974
Tell me that Walter Koenig wouldn’t take the gig,
Without telling me Walter Koenig wouldn’t take the gig.
Cartoon Klingons don’t have forehead ridges. 😂.
wow, an animated series?...then again, I'm not really surprised for some reason
CBS, with all due unrespect, don't use COPYRIGHT claim as a right to take out a fan project, like Stage 9 or Axanar...thats just stupid
"Your logic is excellent captain"
Spock (sycophant, brown noser extraordinar)
Getting this animated series of Star Trek on DVD soon!👩🚀👩🚀👩🚀🛸⭐🌟🌑🌕🔫🔫🔫🔫
Did I just watch this at 9 am....
@jnichols3 He had to wait for the music cue.
I want if you guys can do the prime directive from Star Trek audiobooks
This is from the episode Time Trap (Log 4).
@toSTONEiGO Yeah the tone of their voices does kind of sound like they're all sleepwalking through their parts.

Was Spock stoned. It took a little long for him to react.
Joseph Nichols ha
He was waiting for his accompanying eyebrow trumpet.
They should remake this series using CGI.
“sen-SOAR scans indicate…”
It's just a jump to the left!
@Finishedcooki3 Now you mean to tell me our Apollo - our Mercury - and our gemeni Astronauts missed the Reptoid bases on the moon? I don't think so...
Link goes to Paramount Plus. What else have you got?
Sulu looks faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabulous!!!
I keep thinking of Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law
Cuz of Hanna Barbara
Wait a minute....what Scotty said about the first ship with warp drive installed can't possibly be Canon can it?
Why not? WW3 happened in 1996 according to Star Trek canon. Canon has always been an ever-changing thing.
@@captin3149 well the guy who invented CRISPR just got released from a Chinese prison...and I'm pretty sure those kids are gonna be the wrath of KHAANNNN! Errr I meant...space seed. Genetically superior human beings.
Looks like a stubby constitution class ship.
more continue 😵💫🍻
Imagine To In Deviantart With The Animation Style Like To Spiderverse Is Star Trek Is Star Trek Verse
When did the Klingon three pronged icon premiere? I’m seeing a crude version of it on the hull
The trefoil was on the original filming Klingon ship miniature, as well as Klingon script. well cbs doesn't have these episopdes on their website anymore what a drag.
jim weitzel star trek TAS does use on cbs they actually use at nickelodeon
+jim weitzel Blu Ray release later this year.
You can see all of the episodes on Netflix, see them soon before CBS makes you pay to watch them.
You can get these on DVD for less than $15. And CBS can't take them away from you later.
I think they made an episode of voyager based on the primis of this animated episode. Don't remember the voyager episode title.
It was the ST:VOY PC game Elite Force.
Two episodes could fit the bill. One called 'The Void', and the other, 'One Small Step'.
@@Nickelodeon81 it was the TV series not the game.
what I dont care for is when they run,do you notice one of their arms come up to mouth or nose level....every time
Where can this be gotten!
Either TAS was very cinematic, or TOS was very cartoonish, b/c the two seem close in style and feel.
That's because Star Trek: The Animated Series was written to be a continuation of the original series and most of the original actors and writers from the original series were hired to work on Star Trek: The Animated Series.
I like original Klingons
@Siryath Hahaha
I didn't know this was a thing.
It's just a jump to the left
2:29 "Dat ass..."
What happened next?
sounds like it's 6% too fast or something
When did the 1st season of Star trek the Animated Series start on what year and how long did it run for? Please respond back. Thank you.
Started in fall of 73, ran until fall of 75 (most episodes shown in 74-75 were repeats), new episodes through 74.
Spock?, Spock! Hello? You might wanna do something about The captain disappearing.....
@Siryath lol, wtf...
The Twilight Zone Episode
@Big10fluff hahahhahahahhahahah
Dear CBS, please make with the new TV series with the new crew.
Why do those Portiricans hate the Enterprize?
You know a series is truly dead when they make an animated cartoon about it.
Once again, Shatner is stealing Nimoy's lines
Who was that weird alien at the helm?
Lt. Arex, an Edosian...at navigator.
Wait, sealab 2021?
You should check out Sealab 2020
... No...
@blueluigi
Not a fan of their tarzan cartoon I take it?
Why is Star Trek TAS not considered canon?
Because Roddenberry wasn't making a buck off of it.
AWW HELL NO
The first ship to have warp drive installed? What?
Tom Holmes - this was long before the Phoenix was ever a thing hehe.
@@dreadnought-ai Or NX-01
is that Shatners' voice? Doesnt sound like him
zestydude87 it is yes
@blueluigi I think you're giving it too much credit.
Please stop linking me to Discovery after watching something good. It’s depressing
What is this I don't even....
What is this, I don't even
I don't understand this anime.
It's called a cartoon, was made in the 1970's on a Saturday morning TV budget, and was better written than any "anime."
This sucks, there are only a few minutes long. Thanks for nothing CBS.
We have to watch a commercial to watch a three minute clip? Really CBS? Pathetic. Fail. Dislike. Unsubscribe.
who in their right mind would want to see more TAS? its even worse than Voyager and Enterprise.
This animation is worse than the original Scooby Doo. ACK. Their mouths hardly open when they talk!
If someone insults original scooby doo, i ll call police
Come on this show is great to watch! I don't care what you say about it!
This is one of the worst cartoons I've ever seen in my life... everything about it, from the plots to the animation is just wretchedly horrible.
