Chris Orwig is a thoughtful educator. I've taken several of his courses over the years. He's enthusiastic and energetic. His Photoshop and digital editing skills are superb when it comes to photographic post production. I've never read his books but if you listen to what he says, I get the impression that he truly believes the end goal of photography should be to communicate how you feel about your subject and to share this with your audience. Most educators are too concerned with tricks and techniques (as witnessed here on RUclips). Tricks and tips have their place but I think Chris tries hard to go a little further to help photographers realize that nobody else can possibly ever see and experience the world as you do. Stop mimicking others, develop your own voice (style) - challenge yourself - solve problems - technical skills will follow. I don't see how any reasonable person could dislike Chris. He deserves a much better presentation than this. Thanks Chris.
Chris is the man. I learned a lot of photoshop tips and tricks from him back when photoshop cs was hot. I still use what I learned from him. Did you know that you can create a curves layer and set its blending mode to "softlight" to increase the contrast of your photo?
You have a lot more control of the tonalities affected in a curves adjustment than in LR. Now that LR4 has a curves adjustment that move may not be totally necessary. But it still comes down to habit and preference and he was using LR3 in the vid.
If all that was needed was more contrast @ 38:35, why did he go to photoshop to adjust the tone curve instead of just doing it in Lightroom? I don't understand the extra step....
great photographer, but why do we insist on giving a shit if "celebrities" as him for help? as if to suggest celebrities are the pinnacle measurement of everything. like non "celebrities" could not possible be as talented or important. celebrity is a popularity competition, brittany spears is popular does it make her good? you judge.

really good ,inspiring, just wish (as a small aside) that the music wasnt louder than the dialogue
Also very crazy idea, pull his voice to left side, also when he is standing on right side... To much Whiskey guys :D
51 min , man Ilike watching this on tv
it's so funny to watch it in 2020!
Film really is the best way to photograph things. Kinda surprised she didn’t know how to operate a LF camera
Lot of interesting thoughts.
I wish I could go to Brookes!
Chris you Inspirer me and I'm and og..........Thanx
What lens was used to shoot this video with? I ask because I've noticed lots of visual distortion in the video.
The woman sees the camera and says: "What is it? hihihi". Cripey, what a fool.

Can somebody please tell me what type of watch (brand) is Chris Orwig wearing?
does anyone know what large format camera that it?
did anyone notice what the guy in the background of 28:23 is doing, lol... (can't do that in front of a camera buddy!)
..
I do wish I understood Photoshop. I see too many mediocre photographers use it to make better photographs instead of taking better photographs.
And you are talking utter humbug.
music is WAY too loud when CO talks... can't hear him for it :/
Hack Photography!!!
because some people are of opinion that Lightroom is shit? Others just have their own way of working.
@jonnyboy8000 [Framed] is better than tv!
What is her name?
*Brooks
like the show but the music is kinda cheesy.
Great content BUT-- STOP PUTTING A MUSIC TRACK UNDER YOU INTERVIEW AUDIO ETC VERY AMITURE
Get a proper mic !!! For the rest awesome ;-)
it is definitely stupid audio editing. I hope the editor was still in school so he or she didn't get fired LOL
It could be great video, but master of sound must drink a lot during editing. I can't hear nothing, just that old cheap music.
ummm. why did I listen to this guy babble for 20 minutes... idk. I must be drunk
