I love the behind the scenes... Hours of dedicated work and professionalism... The details, the teamwork, the ability to built small big worlds... A whole parallel reality for the viewer... AMAZING!!!
Yeah this is what I love about all old movie BTS stuff, it was mostly optical trickery and physical art, it took building work, artistic skill, puppetry, team work and timing, and it had character and soul and was WAY more interesting to see it broken down than the modern equivalent of “Here’s all the CGI stuff dropping in in grey, and now here’s the final result”. For the record I’m not against CGI, good CGI done well is great, but it’s too ubiquitous and often lacks the mass and presence of older techniques, sometimes even being used instead of a costume now which is a bit nuts, but if it gets too cartoony it just throws me out of my suspension of disbelief entirely, there’s no ‘gasp’, no ‘wow’, it’s just pixels now.
I love how Billy looks as though he's been sitting around since the 80's!!! Did you use old servos and analogue technology or is it completely modern animatronics within!!! Loved the Playtime mini series, but it defo needs a proper 80's style slasher feature film, the same way you guys did Harbinger Down!! (I bought a lot of copies to give to friends as presents and they enjoyed it!!! Gotta keep practical effects alive!!!!) The Billy Puppet exoskeleton almost looks like stop frame animation when they were testing it outside!
A cool Idea for a sequel series for "Playtime" could be about him hitting the convention circuit, or going indie horror to catch the retro horror craze, or even do them trying to launch a TV series via kickstarter! XD
I enjoyed watching how you guys created Playtime. The animatronics used look absolutely amazing, and the story you guys told was great and had a good message. This is why I'm so passionate about film making and practical effects.
Honestly, I'd watch hours of this stuff. Have you ever considered recording commentaries for films you've worked on as a Patreon reward? Kinda like a RiffTrax?
This is just something very cool and awesome I love it so much! To see how you guys made this and how to make the animatronic look natural when he moves is just awesome
Wow Guys you, re Amazing Creating Billy, I think Practical Effects Win Every time I think CGI should only be Used only when it can, t be done Practically.
This short was incredible and quite funny! Have always been a fan of practical effects and long time follower. Check out Terminator Resistance, a short I made with some friends awhile back with practicle effects set in the future war! ruclips.net/video/GGIlh8cxpBM/видео.html
This is awesome. Love seeing retro tech being used in modern settings!
Stuff like this is why I have a lifelong passion for filmmaking! Awesome work, guys!

How did you guys make the bride in the poster? is it photoshop or did you make an actual doll
The bride is just Billy with a longer wig on and then everything combined in photoshop.
Can we get more Billy?
They should make billy his own RUclips channel

I think I'd be more afraid of this doll than chucky
Chucky rip off I Just love chucky so much but think this is kinda of a RIP-OFF
That's the whole point. It's a parody and homage.
Spent all that time and money trying to convince us he isn't real. SMH.
