That’s for sure. There are so many times I watch bird videos that I’m like “wait, birds do that”? I can’t tell you the level of childlike excitement I felt last year when I learned about crows and how they can interact with humans and how smart they are. It’s still makes me so happy and excited when I see crows. Im so mad that I spent 36 years of life not knowing I can befriend a crow!
@@stuartgreig2256 Gorgeous vibrant colours, I believe Lorikeets usually mate for life, so most of the time its a couple that zip in and out of the property. As cousins of the parakeet (budgies) they certainly call in a similar language.
I had a budgie a long time ago who would share my cornflakes and have breakfast with us. He’d sit on my shoulder while I gardened. Lovely thing. Very human little things
We've had our Blue Front Amazon since he was a baby but he always sleeps standing on one leg. But he wakes up wanting to be petted and preened too... I should mention that he's 37 now.
I had some budgies that used to “talk” in their sleep. I have observed them being sound asleep and they would sometimes chatter softly and even wiggle around slightly. Very adorable.

Appreciate a sweet birb. I have an older rescue conure that ripped my chin area open today. A week ago my cheek. Frequently ears. Shoulders poke preenedto blood. Every few days hands get ravaged; at least blood not drawn as frequently now. How you mindfully care for this baby bird into adulthood, will determine whether they may end up terrorizing a future carer trying desperately to help the bird. Hopefully this bird is blessed with a loving forever fam flock.
At about 0:48, the way the bird moves, it made me think of a raptor. Like a legit dinosaur. I don't know how or why but the body language was familiar to one.

She’s beautiful! I have always been scared of birds not sure why maybe because at times they seem unpredictable. So to break myself from this feeling I adopted 7 budgie parakeets this last year. I am handling them and feeding them and they are a lot smarter than I anticipated. They trust me and some of them have funny personalities. While I am still nervous of larger birds it has subsided quite a bit handling these guys. I now get to experience the joy of babies as two of them have bred and laid 4 eggs. Much love to you and anyone who loves animals. ❤️

She must be having some vivid and fun dreams! Her tail just wiggles and she makes little chittery sounds while sleeping!

They do mate for life and it is very sad to know a pair then watch the distress when one looses their partner. Very sad.

I don't think they normally do, most birds sleep standing (mine stand on one foot) but I have seen some pets sleep in funny ways
