    - Will we look for treasures and coins in the field today?
    - We will always look for treasures!
In one of my videos, I said that using a standard 10.5-inch coil, I made 80% of all significant finds, while using it only in 5% of cases.
I myself can not understand such a paradox, but I will try to figure it out. This is a whole science.
I'll try to explain point by point.
For simplicity, I will check the detection distance of 5 kopecks of the USSR on the table at home. The experiment is very controversial, but easy to understand and describe.
Depth of target detection coil 15 inches and 10.5 inches.
    • The conditional detection depth of a 10.5 inch coil of 5 kopecks of the USSR is 35 centimeters
    • With a 15 inch coil, the detection depth is 38.1 cm.
Increasing the coil diameter by 42% gives a 10% increase in depth (roughly). Showed data for general understanding.
    1. If you accidentally tilt the 15-inch coil by only 5 degrees, the detection depth will drop to 35 centimeters. By tilting the coil by 5 degrees, we get the detection depth of a standard coil with a diameter of 10.5 inches.
    2. Greatly reduces the detection depth of small hills and rocks. If with a coil of 10.5 inches all obstacles can be easily examined, then with a coil of 15 inches this is problematic.
    3. The large coil instinctively rises above the smaller coil, which reduces the depth of detection of targets.
    4. With a large coil, you dig deeper and longer, it takes a lot of time. A large coil sees well large targets at greater depths and you have to dig more. You get tired faster. You pass a smaller area.
    5. The main lost items, about 99% of all finds, are in the cultural layer. Basically, the cultural layer is up to 25 centimeters thick, at this depth the regular coil catches any targets.
    6. You can see small targets with any coil at the same depth. Therefore, a larger coil can be used to increase the speed of the passage of the territory, but then it must be reduced in sensitivity in order to exclude the detection of targets at great depths.
    7. Movements with the standard reel are faster than with the 15 inch reel, the weight is different.
    8. Confidence that a coil of a larger diameter will always have more finds, and therefore, in the search, did you miss the little things bypassing inconvenient places?
    It's all. Nothing else.
You can tell in the comments what was missed on this topic.
Why are there more finds with a 10.5" coil than with a 15" coil?
