I read an article a while ago I forgot where. It said hardmounts can't get up to softmount speeds because the vibration would be too much for the concrete. And the hardmounts that do have comparable speeds are very sensitive to avoid strain on the concrete. Which means they'll rarely get up to speed.
Higher extraction speed doesn't lead to cleaner clothes. This guy is talking nonsense. Hard mount has been tested for years. The frame will last forever. No shocks to replace. No wear parts. Soft mount is newer, costs more, and requires more maintenance. Soft mount should only ever be chosen if your floors cannot handle hard mount.
But you're saving on the cost of installation, and maneuverability is obviously easier, which would be useful during maintenance. Speaking of, for hardmounts, don't you have to tighten the anchors frequently, and the bearings get more strain because all of the force is put on them? Give innovation a chance, stop being afraid of new things. Like top loaders, I though this was old technology and surprised it still exists.

And softmounts have been around forever. They're definitely popular and id say prioritized in the commercial/industrial space.
