These smart glasses have little documentation, so I am nervous about buying them. I see translation as a major use case. Have you been able to confirm that the Zoi Meet transcription and translation app and the Virtex text translation app work well, and which languages they support?
As far as i know Vuzix is an US-American company and it should be easy for you to contact the support in case you have trouble with the device and need help. They sell those glasses mainly to other companies focused as assistant device for workers when they have to repair things and neeed video support by experts ( who are miles away and who are able to watch and see what you see with those glasses and can give advice how to handle things ). But yeah translation should work too
Hi...Can you , please, help me...I m right eye blind and I only see with my left eye , by the celular zoom camera. It s this smart glasses do this function in the glasses? Is possible do better contrast and brightless? Tks
You can adjust the brightness and unfortunately it is for right hand eye use. I am not sure whether it is worth contacting Vuzix for left hand eye use? By the way, I have a haemorrhage on my retina hence a blind spot on my vision so I share how frustrating this can be
@@ljptech thanks so much for your kind reply (^_^). Once oculus realizes wtf technlogy they have with their finger tracing, they will be making the first stark tech like glasses. 5-7 Years and we'll be scrolling and typing just like we would on the phone, only on the glasses. Maybe even a working HUD that would be ill.
@@ljptech I would love to say batteries are getting smaller and better by the year but actually I feel battery technology has been somewhat stagnant over the last 20 years. @@jeremyjohnson937 The contact lens would be cool. However, I could totally see a future where big tech and governments censor reality by changing the image you can see through the contact lens. Like Tiananmen Square could be happening right in from of you, but all you see is a happy parade instead of tanks and protesters. I prefer the glasses because I can take them on and off more easily, and thus it will be harder for governments and big tech to control what I can and can not see. I am newly deaf and am using a transcription app on iphone to display speech made by others to me. 1) are batteries swappable? 2) can the Blade [or Blade 2] mirror the phone screen through the display to show the talker's transcribed speech? 3) will turning volume on speakers down to zero save on battery life (I'm deaf after all)? Thank you.
Vuzix is a pioneer in this business for over two decades, their technology which is patented will take apple engineers a lot of time to develop because they are not focused on just this tech, they also have to invent something that isn't similar which is a challenge, there are companies that are trying to buy out vuzix but so far no one has been successful, and i don't think apple will be either unless the offer is really good, the owner of the company Paul Travers right now has a deal with several companies all from defense to construction to medicine, so i don't think they'd be interested to sell it just as yet, once they hit the commercial market with their new line called the "Shields" it should be a game changer as that one is aimed at regular users and is much more powerful and capable than the blades.
I can't scan barcode to link my smartphone. I see a blinking red line in the middle of the camera screen. When I place the barcode on the camera screen, nothing happens.
I’ve always dreamt of having actual smart glasses. However, the Vuzix Blade 2 cost £1,440, which is almost three months rent for me. Damn. Besides, the display doesn’t seem all that impressive. I can’t wait until we have really good smart glasses! Can’t wait to see Apple and Samsung enter the game - likely within five years.
i agree its way over priced for the technology, you can get the HoloLens 1 for around £400 in used condition that has plenty more features or even the new meta quest pro for that price that has more features.. the vuzix blade is at the low end of the technology market yet charging top end prices.. i don't see it making any big moves anytime soon..
