I love everything Jonathan Haidt does. As an ex-academic raising a daughter in rural Arizona, I really appreciate his insight. It’s very clear, grounding, and focused. Thank you!

I am caucasian. I was a flight attendant for 10 years. Almost every pairing (shift working with a crew) I was asked where was I from. I have a Canadian accent so I didnt sound foreign. If ever I said Canada i would get a laugh. I know why I am being asked this. We all ask this because we are curious about people’s origins. What is my ancestral background. Often people would guess and be wrong. Guessing Romanian, French, German, Polish… I’m British and they are usually surprised. Not sure why. But, I am not offended nor should I be. I have personally found the only people who are offended by this question are new immigrants. We are almost all immigrants here. White people ask this question to each other all the time. People just assume we are asking if they have a different skin colour. Not so.

Is it a coincidence that the discussion of microaggression coincides with a close up of a Black person?

Bad idea - taking psychology advice from a business professor on a book tour.

Isn’t he a social psychologist? I think he teaches ethics and negotiation and stuff like that but it’s in the school of business.

@@VioletFemme810 Much of what he is saying is total BS

This is ad hominem. If you don't believe what he is saying, try to argue why he's wrong, rather than deflecting to a personal attack.
