Easily the best MST3K episode! I got this one first back in the late 90s, and my friends and I watched it dozens of times, and quoted it relentlessly! We still occasionally do the "McCloud" gag.
Yep, POD PEOPLE is top-tier MST3K - between the not-really-converging plot lines, the cheapo attempts at "magical" VFX, "Trumpy"'s immobile face that somehow resembles late British character actor Donald Pleasance, and the monotonous New Age soundtrack, this gave Joel and the 'Bots a cornucopia of things to riff about.
This is my second-favorite MST3K episode (second only to "Santa Claus"). This is the absolute first episode I recommend to people who have never heard of or haven't grown up with MST3K…
