    Great channel, new sub! I just did my first show in almost 25+ years! Man how times have changed! As a dealer you now have all these flippers that come through, buy in bulk, ALL CASH, and it’s tough to make sure to straddle the dealer and reseller roles. I found that I had to be a little strict with the “early” crowd and leave some for the collectors who pay the sticker price. One part I kinda didn’t realize is that people will sell you cards as well, so that’s an added bonus for someone like me that is primarily raw to grade. Great, video, look forward to more!

      Thanks, and Welcome! I totally agree! Great points. Flippers can be good and bad at the same time. 1. You sell more. But 2. You get less $$. So I think it depends on your strategy, and how you think the market is looking. If you want to move product fast, then sell to them. But if you think it's a sellers market, and you're in no rush, then hold your ground. Thanks for stopping by!

    I love collecting cards and need help to find good ones

    • @ThatSportsCardsGuy
      @ThatSportsCardsGuy  Месяц назад +1

      Yes, collecting is so fun! I'd recommend spending lots of time at your local card stores, and attending as many card shows as possible. The only way to learn is to immerse yourself into the hobby and talk to as many people as possible. Generally, buy at card shows, and look to pay 85-95% of eBay comps. I'd steer clear of eBay honestly, unless you find a steal and a card you cannot resist.

      @ThatSportsCardsGuy  Месяц назад +1

      What do you buy? Singles or boxes? I wouldn't but on Amazon, higher chance of counterfeit cards, and prices aren't as good. Whatever you do, don't open boxes. Unless you want to throw away your money.

      @ThatSportsCardsGuy  Месяц назад +2

      Actually that's misleading, looking at national indexes, card sales are down significantly year over year. And, looking at GDP and labor statistics, the economy is not great. BUT, either way, vote Kennedy!

      @@ThatSportsCardsGuy Your dead wrong. Unemployment at record lows, Stock Market up doing record numbers, S&P 500 is doing record numbers. Gold is over $2,000 an ounce, minimum wage in California $20 per hour!! Trump won't be able to sell all his Crap if the Economy wasn't strong. $60 Bibles? Really? $400 Fake Gold Shoes? In your opinion what are mid end prices or cost of cards? Thanks!

    • @ThatSportsCardsGuy
      @ThatSportsCardsGuy  Месяц назад +2

      Hey there! I'd say $200-$500. So, anything from $50 to $200 is a great place to move cards fast. Once you start going up to $200, $300, and up, it gets harder, but under $1k is still fairly liquid. Over $2-5k gets much harder to move.

      Thanks for the Sub! I honestly use card ladder, though I'm not sure it's THE best. You also have alt, and market movers. I chose card ladder because the price was right and it was easy to use. Though I'm probably not the only expert here. Cheers!

    • @ThatSportsCardsGuy
      @ThatSportsCardsGuy  Месяц назад +2

      That's actually super common for dealers. People coming to these shows expect to pay 85-90% comps, so, a dealer has to pay 75-80% to make any money. Gotta get their margin from somewhere.
