Wish I'd have seen this yesterday. Changed the fuel pump. Changed the MAF. Changed the valve cover. On daughter in laws 2016 chevy trax. Went to the back of the vehicle and heard a gurgling sound. Stuffed a paper towel in it and the engine lined right out. Thanks for your help sir

Can a bad gas cap cause jerking and bucking? I plan on getting my coils and spark plugs replaced to help out, but wanted to see if this may be causing it.

My gas cap stopped clicking about 2 months ago, didn't think much of it, it still felt like it tightened. Then a couple weeks later, my check engine light turned still on. So I bought a new gas cap, the NEW gas cap didn't click either. I tightened it as much as I could and went on my way. Wuddup Willie. I have a 2005 toyota camry. My service engine light now remains on. Everytime I pull the fuel door release switch to open the fuel door the gas cap is loose. I turn it until it clicks several times and close the fuel door but when I pull the switch again right away and check the cap it be loose. Do you know if when the switch is pulled to open the fuel door does that automatically loosen the cap for convenience or could my gas cap be malfunctioning?

Circuit High Input (Bank 2) issue(s). Is it possible the loose gas cap could cause this particular code reading instead of the “loose cap “ code of another number ? I will buy a new cap today but I would please like to know the answer as you are a very knowledgeable mechanic ! Thank you
I owned a Lexus ES350 and had to change the knock sensors on it. On that engine it was best to replace both knock sensors and a knock sensor harness at the same time so that I would not have to go back in and repair second time. Toyota make good vehicles, that car had 230,000 miles and it ran smoother than any other vehicle i ever owned.

I have that in my f250 6.2 gas. It take forever to fill the tank. Throws me 2 codes (p1450 and p0451) my truck runs good. No problems at all. Just the suction noise through the Yellow gas cap. I think this is my problem. What is your opinion?

I have a 2011 malibu and about two weeks ago it started smelling fuel from the vents but also even if the car is parked, smell on the outside….. common issue would be a vacuum line or injectors, but being parked I don’t think that would be the problem and also is consumes more fuel than usual, and a massage just popped out in my dash “check gas cap”….. thanx in advance

If it continues look into gas tank cap seals, and fowled plugs 🙏 small issues with those solid 2.3L throw codes constantly it's np.

But yes replace the cap 1st. It can cause all kinds of weird problems
But once the gas cap replaced will the check engine light go off? And will the smell of gas leave the car?

My truck does that same same sounds when I remove the gas cap maybe that's why the evaporative system hasn't cleared on the scanner
