Thanks for the video. When I purchased my First type R from Japan years ago I was trying to get a jump on my buddies who just started the standard 110’s. I was under the impression that the “Type R” name in Japan is usually associated with high performance and limited edition. As beautiful as the bait was, I was disappointed finding out that the production model at that time, was designed for long lining and straight retrieve. I noticed the side to side action wasn’t as prevalent as the regular 110’s.. then I found out why

I'm looking at a couple of these as replacements for floating rapalas but with cooler colours and a slightly heftier body. Would you recommend them for surface twitching and straight retrieves for bass and walleye in that regard?

@@theastuteangler these are suspended models I believe and they won’t make a good replacement for your floating Rapala. If you love the MB colors you should look at the Ito 110 R Hi Float or just the High float

@@Smallmouthnation ah okay, yeah the ones I was looking at were the Type R Hi-Float. I thought all Type R were Hi-Float, my mistake. Thanks for response.

Best jerk bait ever worth every penny so far I have 3 collection. It works for trolling as well cast out 20 yards=50 and let out another 20-30 yards would get you 100~120 feet good enough to keep the pole tip rattling

Can the hooks of these hold a fish up to 15lbs-20lbs?

Not sure we haven't caught any that big. But what we can tell you is that they are a lot beefier than the regular 110 hooks. If you were using 12-15lb. flouro you will be good.

I would have to say the r series is a better roll and stop jerkbait then the original but the original is a better overall jerkbait I used these over the weekend in 38 degree water and these suspended a little better but the erratic action of the original is not there I caught fish on both but the regular 110 way out produced the type r

I love the R. I get a better action out of them than the original 110. I don't know why Megabass USA won't bring them over.
