Back in the 1980's camping at Ingalls Lake wasn't yet prohibited. I stayed there a couple of times. To wake up and look across the lake towards Mt Stuart was inspiring and humbling.

I have to admit I don't really get trail running. What is the purpose? What is the true pay-off? The trail and hike are not enough, more endorphins are required? Is there a rush? Why hurry to shorten the time on the trail, and not fully relish each moment? Such an excellent way to fall and get hurt (or killed), or to attract a chasing bear or cougar (or mountain goat). Worse for your ankles and knees. Redirects to the immediate dirt ahead most of your attention from the greater scenery and detail. Seems like an insult to the lithosphere and ecosystem that there is a rush to get away from it and/or it is being turned into a "sport."
