- Watch over 80 bald eagles fish, fight and steal on Onondaga Lake in Syracuse, NY!
This is a video highlight of the Bald Eagles in Syracuse who come here during winter due to the warm, open water on the lake, which is caused by the local sewage plant. Since most lakes and rivers in NY are frozen during the winter months, this open water attracts eagles from all over. It allows them to feast on the Shad and other types of fish. This is unique and one of the biggest gatherings of eagles in New York State.
The Syracuse eagles will be featured in my documentary "Urban Eagle" and you can learn more about their story.
Thanks to Craig from Honeywell for allowing me to film on their property.
