    Beside RUclipsrs… I read many reviews where the majority of customers seemed happy about this product...
    As for me, here is my review on the product. On this channel I review products based on several elements:
    1- What I know about the brand if I know anything specific: here it’s all said in the video.
    2- Ingredients: based on the ingredients given by the brand, there are mainly very common hydrating ingredients and Centella Asiatica as well as being hydrated is also calming, soothing, wound healing; and it helps to reduce some type of redness. Obviouly as said in the video despite what the marketing led to believe there is more than Centella Asiatica in the product and we do not lnow the % of Centella Asiatica in the product (it is the same for all similar products by the way...)
    3- Irritants: There is no fragrance nor alcohol which is a plus for my very sensitive skin
    4- The packaging: it is minimalist and I like it, I had no problem.
    5- The product: it has no smell and the texture is liquid/close to water with a little bit of viscosity.
    6- What the brand says: It is a soothing product that helps the skin to fight environmental harshness
    7- My result VS the price:
    After applying the product on my skin, my skin felt very temporarily only, hydrated (just like adding water to the skin). This product unfortunately broke me out (it happens often with my sensitive skin without always me knowing why…). When I finally understood it was breaking me out, I had to stop using that product.
    In the end for me there was no hydrating effect and no calming effect... so despite the fact that the price is affordable, for me and my skin it is not worth it since I did not get any benefit from it.
    Hope this review helps someone !

      You should use it after a toner. That too 4 droplets max in damp skin. And it takes 3 months to see result. The thing with korean skincare ia you shouldn't layer the products without giving time to absorb it. It will reduce absorption as the products sit on top and cause clogging of pores. If you layer heavy moisturizer with this you are dead. And centella will increase cell turn over , increase collagen and if you don't exfoliate weekly then also it creates issue, because you will not get benifitted by this serum.

    • @Thoughtsofanetizen
      @Thoughtsofanetizen 4 месяца назад

      I was also suspecious about the single ingredient moto. It's actually single ingredient it's 100% centella extract only, obiovously it needs a solvent and moisturizing agent a preservative, if not how can it last upto 30 months. And with centella this is bare minimum to make it stable for this much time. As you add more components to it it's stability will decrease subtatially. You can search for clinical study. There is a graph on studies. This is bare minimum for all plant extract in a bottle. And it's really a 100% centella extract. There is no need for labelling. You are thinking too much because of this beauty insustries extra suspecious youtubers, who even don't know what's 1-2 Hexadinol( a very stable solvent that will help the extract retain its stability potency in heat), what's glycerin ( best humectant that can cross skin barrier, retain water in skin because of it's very low molecular size; unlike hyaluronic acid which in very low molecular weight can induce inflammation and high molecular weight can reduce inflammation, glycerin is the best and can keep the extracts water intact.

      @aryas4443 Hi, but you must be new to my channel because I do exfoliate weekly and I am not at all new to skincare in general...same thing with Korean skincare or even American or Japanese skincare and obviously French and European skincare since I am French. My love for skin care started way before RUclips and blogs even existed. I tried this product and it just did not work for me. Not all products will work for everyone.

    • @HereDiianas
      @HereDiianas  4 месяца назад

      @aryas4443 There are plenty of skincare products available on the market even too much... but I have a limited budget and only one face to test and try products. So like everyone I have to make choices. One way for me to choose a product/ brand is to choose one that is at least as transparent as the legislation tells them to be. I have very sensitive skin so although I enjoy skincare I don't buy everything I see and normally I pay attention to the ingredient list before I buy a product. That was my mistake for this product as I got carried away. This brand is not clear with the full ingredient list and this product broke me out (which happens often with many products even when the full ingredient list is available) but when I have a full list of ingredients I can at least start to investigate some ingredients that may cause me to break out. That's what you have to do when your skin is very sensitive and every ingredient matters, including the preservative used. With that product I can't do it. In my opinion those 2 reasons are more than enough for me to not buy this product. Many people whi watch my channel also have sensitive skin so those points matter to them although I understand that it does not matter to everyone. But it always matter on my channel for all products I review. I don't review products to get sympathy from brands or to please people or to follow trends or the majority of opinion. I spend my own money, I try the products properly and stop trying the product if it breaks me out so if I like a product I say it and same if I don't like it and I give my reasons for that. I have given good reviews even to product that broke me out because I could see the benefit although my sensitive skin could not handle it. For this products, I think that the video and my highlighted comment that complete the video is more than enough to understand my reasoning. There are plenty of products and brands that use Centella Asiatica and that share the inci ingredient list on their packaging and website that is the absolute full ingredient list required by the legislation at least if you choose to sell a product in Europe and North America. Sharing part of the ingredient list on a random Instagram page is not professional for a serious brand and that is also a way to avoid fair competition since we can't wven properly compare this product with other ones. All of that matters to me. I prefer to spend my money on serious brands and there are plenty including other Korean brands. Next time I want to try/test that ingredient I'll just make sure to get it from one of those brands.

      @@HereDiianas I understand. Some products are good but people don't know how to use it. You can make your own choice. All the best. You are overreacting alot. Please once check the medicine for cold , check ingredient list,you will stop using medicines too. The brand doesn't cheat anyone saying it's an one ingredient. That's all I said. Best is you please boycott the Korean skin care products. Use only American and uk products.

    I'm sorry it didn't work for you and broke you out. I find it has the opposite effect for me. It has taken the place of tea tree oil whenever I start having any sort of bump developing on my face. At first sign I put just a drop of this on the spot after I wash my face that night, and the next morning it is always gone! And without the smell or irritation of tea tree oil. But I guess nothing works for everyone.

      Hi and thank you for your comment, I don't know where you get this list but that list can't be the right inci list. First the inci name of centella asiatica is not centella asiatica but centella asiatica extract and brands can't just put any name on the ingredient list since there is a standard that must be followed. Also per what the brand said and from common sense in chemistry if you need a solvant that contain water to get a plant extract for your formulation then the extract itself obviously can't be the first ingredient. The inci list must list the right inci name of the ingredients, but also, they must be listed in the right order of concentration. At 06:14 in the video I shared the ingredient list that the brand itself shared on their Instagram and it does not match the list you are giving.
      That's also a problem I shared in the video. There are several list going around and none of them make sense.
      If one day that brand gets big enough to be sold in big stores that must be careful with cosmetic legislation to not get sued with the risk of loosing a lot of money like Sephora then we'll probably finally get the proper inci ingredient list.

    I came across this video while doing research on the brand and the product you used that broke you out. I'm not sure if I completely understand your issue with this brand or other Korean brands. The omission of preservatives and stabilizers fits Korean skincare standards it's not like niacinamide or azelaic acid was added. When I looked into this topic (you aren't the first person to mention the labelling) I saw someone more familiar with Korean vs American skincare write that its similar to omitting Citric Acid from a pie.
    Personally, I don't think omitting preservatives is the same as mario badescu adding steroids to his products without telling customers, however, trust is really important when seeking out skincare and if your trust is violated or you feel the Korean brand(s) are confusing you are right to spend where your money gives you more value.

    • @HereDiianas
      @HereDiianas  5 месяцев назад +2

      Hi and sorry to only see your comments now... If I had bought this product in Korea I would have not done this video. Each country has its own rule. But when a brand chooses to sell abroad they have to follow the legislation of that country otherwise it's not a fair competition anymore.
      My issue is simply with any brands that do not follow the regulations of the country where they sell their products. In this case of this brand they doubled down with a very misleading marketing on their webisite and with international sponsorships ( not just Koreans). I have a video about sunscreens I will never buy for different reasons and on that video I talked about 2 UK brands which are also very misleading in their marketing and who are clearly lying when it comes to their ingredient list. They don't follow the legislation of their own country. There is not enough control and unfortunately some companies profit from it.
      Regarding this product, if I had been more careful I would have just not bought it .I usually notice those things beforehand. But for this product like many I just followed the movement without thinking twice. I understand that most people don't even look at the ingredient list, don't care about it and buy their skincare solely based on the marketing and/or reviews but that's not my case. Transparency is how I choose to try and buy one product over another and since I have extremely sensitive skin that also allows me to minimize buying products that may not work for me. When I break out from a product I check the ingredient list to see if there is a new ingredient I had never tried before or an ingredient I already suspected. In my case all ingredients matter not just the main active. That's what it is to have true hypersensitive skin. That's not an exact science but I have been doing for years and that helps me a lot creating my own list of ingredient my skin does not like. When brands don't do it then I can't even start to investigate if I don't even have the full information.
      Many people are scared of parabens now. Not me. But that is a choice for each customer to choose to use it or not. Parabens are preservatives that are still used despite its bad reputation. But for those who wishes to avoid it... How can they do it when preservatives are not shown. Others have sensitivity with the now commun paraben phenoxyetanol.... Those information are important for those consumers. It's like people who have allergies with food. They have to check every single ingredients when others just grab a pack of chips without thinking. Different customers different problems, issue, expectations. But the legislation has been made in order to have full transparency in Europe + North America.
      Beyond that I also don't have unlimited money so since I have to make choices I'd rather focus on brands who at least follow the legislation. There are way enough brands to choose from.
      Hope that help you understand my stand on this a little bit more.

    Hi, can you review Mary&May centella serum ? They claim to be 95% centella extract

    • @HereDiianas
      @HereDiianas  4 месяца назад

      Hi ! I checked this serum and at least they do not claim "1 ingredient only" and I see the exact same ingredients list of this serum everywhere. So you don't have 5 different ingredients list on the Internet for the same product which would be confusing.
      What I don't like is that again they don't share the full ingredient list. Preservatives are not listed (at least not on their website. I don't know about their packaging...). From what SKIN1004 explains, in Korea the ingredient "centella asiatica extract" is a liquid solution of centella+ingredientS/solvantS that help to extract the Centella.... so yes 95% is possible since the main solvant could well be 99%water or 97% water+glycerin or 98%water+butylen glycol..... So the 95% does not represent centella itself but centella+solvants which is too confusing for me. And we don't know what part of centella (the roots, the leaves, the water....). Many people just tend to trust brands which is fine but I don't, and the experience with skin1004 made me even less trustful when it comes to product using centella. For me this type of formula is too confusing and does not help me make a good conclusion on a product before buying it. So that's not a product I could buy myself (which does not say anything about its quality, that's just how I feel). Because of that I personally don't look for specific centella....products anymore but if I come across a face moisturizer or brightening serum that aslo contains centella I am not opposed to it but I would only care if I see specific centella components listed which is more specific and not just "centella asiatica extract"
      which is a vague information and can be many different things (leaf extracts, roots extracts, water extracts.....+ water+butylen glycol +........). At least the components are listed as individual ingredient in the INCI ingredients list in the right order of concentration in the product if you know what I mean...
      There are many beneficial components of centella asiatica.
      Centella Asiatica has many components:
      Asiaticoside, Centelloside,Madecassoside,Moside,
      Thankuniside,Sceffoleoside,Centellose,Asiatic acid,
      Centellic acid,Madecassic acid, Terminolic acid.
      So I would prefer to look for products with some of those ingredients. The day I'll come across such a product I'll definitely share it. Sorry I could not help you more !

I understand that each country allows you to do things differently but per their own statement even Korea does not force them to present one ingredient only it just allows it under circumstances which I am not even sure they're respecting themselves... But in Korea at least that's fair competition for all the brands since they can all follow that rule if they want to. But outside Korea the competition is not fair anymore and that's not even legal. But they're playing dub because so far they've been backed up by so many big youtubers who are also doing sponsor content for them...

      @HereDiianas  10 месяцев назад +3

      @@temperancevillanueva6171Hi and thank you for leaving a comment, but you really don't seem to know much about how cosmetic regulation works in Europe and North America. Of course ALL ingredients must be disclosed, the only exception are the ingredients that make a fragrance which are all listed as "fragrance" ( because the ingredient list would become way too long). Even in Europe some components of fragrance in cosmetics MUST be disclosed as well because they have a higher risk of allergies or causing sensitivity such as lemonen or geranium for instance...
      In America the difference would be that medical ingredients like salycilic acid for instance which is allowed in cosmetics to fight acne must be listed seperately as active when its concentration enters the minimum medecine/medical concentration level (in that case 2%) and the exact concentration must be told on the packaging also. I often travel between the USA and Europe and when buying the same product I can see the few differences that you can notice sometimes in the labelling of some products.
      What does not need to be disclosed is the concentration of every single ingredients. That is how they protect their formula. The ingredients, the techniques used, the quality and source of the natural ingredients and the concentration of each ingredients... all.of that make a formula. A cosmetic company is not proprietary of an ingredient. Those ingredients already exist in nature or they were engineered in the past and are now available to all. A company can be proprietary to a new ingredient if they engineered that new ingredient themselves or bought it from an another company AND patent it. And even a patent only last for a certain number of years. During that time that new ingredient must still be listed in the ingredient list but only that company can use it until the patent expired.
      You must be knew to my channel but I have extremely sensitive skin which is why I am extremely knowledgeable on the topic and that is not the first time I talk about that. I have put screens shots in the video where the Internet addresses are visible on purpose so you can find the direct information on official websites for yourself regarding cosmetic regulations. I also listen to the podcast thebeautybrains made by 2 independent cosmetic chemists who have been working in that industry, for different very well known companies altogether for more than 4 decades and regulations and norms is part of the subject they talk about.
      If you buy any cosmetic products in a legit store like Target in the USA or Carrefour in France or even Sephora the ingredient list is listed as inci ingredients and that is not a random label but an official one which is mandatory and which has rules that need to be followed.
      Perfumes are a different category in cosmetic and yes they don't have to disclose their ingredients list.
      When it comes to processed food it is the same at least for Europe (I live in France) every single ingredients must be disclosed even the probability of having some nuts residue must be disclosed in order to prevent allergies. In Europe only Coca has never disclosed their full ingredient list. I know that one of their ingredient is not disclosed because they made a "trade secret agreement" long ago with Europe. Saw that in a French documentary one day. Don't ask me why or how Europe agreed on that lol...
      These are the 2 exceptions.
