Just got Phaseplant and went hunting for a recent tutorial for the newer version. This is perfect. Thanks so much for making this. Greatly appreciated! Sub'ed!
Thanks for this Alckemy. Been following you for a while but just wanted to say thank you. Sound design has always been a difficult topic for me, i just don't know where to start. So recently i started watching more of you video's and excercising with blank patches ;) Thanks & keep' em coming!
I think Phase Plant could replace all synths I had in mind if only I had a way to enter a formula for wavetable editor like Serum. I like Vital, but the wavetable editor isn't great. And I don't think any more development will be happening in Vital. Another great add might be the harmonics engine like Pigments.
@Alckemy Never had my hands on it. I'm not quite ready to pay $200 for a synth, but if you can pass in a formula like Serum, it would make me buy it. Also, it's a good thing that PP is paid, so that development can still happen. The same can't be said about Serum and Vital.
@@Alckemy Already beat you to it - I watched a few yesterday after the live stream! Once again, thanks for all the great content. Looking forward to future videos (and the ones I haven't watched yet 😉)
hello I don't really understand how the sampler works in phase plant... in particular the root function (what is the padlock symbol for), and how the tuning works in relation to the midi notes
Root function tells sample what key the original sample is so it helps you calibrate where playing C will play a C. The padlock means it’ll keep the root note even if you swap samples. If you import a sample that’s in F, you need to set the root note to F
Mostly yes! … mostly Bitwig doesn’t have some of the effects included in phaseplant (and vice versa) and also doesn’t have a wavetable maker, or multi stage envelope. The workflow compared to sound designing in bitwig is also way faster because of the vertical approach rather than the horizontal one. I prefer to do this in kilohearts stuff though, because for me being a content creator, I can make patches for a synth anyone can use in any daw. It’s also possible, but kind of a pain to set up multiple frequency bands like multi pass when using more than 3 because of how filters crossover- however, since bitwig can have as many layers in an fx rack (beyond the fx3 container) you can theoretically have as many bands as you want…. There are workarounds to both but that’s a rabbit hole. Phaseplant is realllllly fast. The efficiency aspect of it and the fact I can make custom filters is why I need both bitwig and phaseplant Both of them have pros and cons when compared but I’ve made similar presets in both (I have packs on my website for anyone who reads this) that has the same neuro/generator layout.
Hi I love the channel and subbed a long time ago, I'm trying to find a paid tutorial about this software, I can't find any anywhere, please don't think I'm knock this awesome channel so please don't feel insulted, I watch this channel a lot also I'm trying to make drum and bass and neuro and absolutely love the journey but I'm getting thrown off by all the updates, absolutely love you dude, every time I load this up I feel like I'm looking up commander data's asshole 😂 it's beyond serum and pigments, I'm old skool using cubase sx3 then cubase5 then fell in love with Ableton, and hope you are well and having a great day and sorry is this come across rude 🙏by the way i own all kilohearts products not cracked.

Thanks so much for watching! I have a vodcast on how to learn sound design in the philosophy playlist I’d definitely recommend
@@Alckemy Aight! will check it out man! Enjoy the live stream, might hop on later ;)

The wavetable editor in phaseplant is bonkers. Have you spent a lot of time with it?

Oooh! Space Invaders is on the top right of the main window! I was playing it last night haha
Thanks! I was worried it was gone
gonna have to watch this 100 times to understand it ! lol. I know it will be worth it though, thanks man
Source-fx-mods is the tldr lol.
Then you get more effects and mods with multi pass and snap heap. Other than that, just go crazy! Lol
love your channel, most of it it was too advanced for me at the moment but I'll be following along until I get it@@Alckemy
Thanks!
Thank you!!!

loved the cough XD XD
To me it seems I can do all of this in Bitwig Studio already anyway, can't I?
