New Subscriber. I believe my Grandfather had White Faced Herefords because he inherited them and had them till he passed away at 90. I also worked a big dairy farm as a feeder and hired hand but they were all Holsteins but on a Dairy Farm it's all about the Dollar so our instructions were clear and we only left the calf with the Mother just long enough for her to clean it and after that we had to take the calves to a separate barn where they were fed and kept away from the Balling Mother which just seemed cruel because the Farmer only wanted the 10 months of milk before he artificially impregnated it again.. At a certain age the Heifers are separated from the Bulls and the Bulls get sold when they reach a certain weight and of course they were castrated and had their horns cut off as well. I quit this job after 8 months. I've seen your cattle before but can remember what they are called. They look like they could be dangerous.
Every critter bigger than me is potentially dangerous. We try and work with our Highlands and Hereford crosses as much as we can to get them used to us. Many times they get pushy for attention when they see a brush in our hands. Nothing like getting sandwiched between 2 pushy cattle who both want all the attention.lol
I live near a place where they keep these cattle. They look so chilled chewing away, watching me from under their fringes when I walk past.
Keep the videos coming I look forward to seeing them
Will do. Much appreciated!
Check out blessed ranch....they just had little girl calf born yesterday...beautiful and spunky🤗🤗
