Absolutely brilliant ! Fast, silent and good for the environment ! Remember riding on them as a child and as added entertainment it was always a laugh watching the conductor hooking the trolley back onto the overhead lines when it had fallen off !
@jenney talia….I remember riding on them too!!….My old Mum...who is now in her late 80's was a 'clippy' (she gave out tickets) worked on these...She once told me that she wasn't strong enough to hook the trollies onto the overhead lines and her driver had to help her....she told me that they had a good laugh about it too!!….Oh happy days of childhood.. :-)
HaHa ! Had a relative that was a ' Clippy ' and when she retired it took her some time to get used to walking properly because she was used to the motion of the bus.
My play and knock about area when I lived in Denton Burn. I used to spend a lot time at Denton Squire and the trolley bus depot on West Road at the top of Wingrove Road. Still live in the Burn area, sadly now spoilt by planners who never spoil their own area. Great memorys also of the great Haymarket. Like I said greater a great place now spoilt by planners.

Brilliant, a home cine film.
I'm a train and I approve this video! :D Choo choo!!
Didn't realise how much traffic was then, and the noise.
Sorry, put the comments in wrong video clip.
Do you have original 8mm film?
we were ahead of our time full electric service now we have Battery Buses step back i think can you imagin metro running on Battery power
Where in Newcastle is 3:56?
Going past Central Station heading towards Marlborough Crescent Bus Station I reckon
It’s Marlborough bus station, pretty much where the Centre for life is now....
This one has removed it’s hat.
Where were the trolley buses, very sparse!!!!
If this is your idea of a trolley bus you're sadly mistaken. They are petrol driven.
No they aren't.They get power from overhead wires.
NOT A TROLLEY BUS IN SIGHT DURING THE WHOLE MOVIE! Complete crap!
