My mom did this growing up all the time to get groceries on Sundays (there were five of us kids😅). Remember once in Church the pastor called it out as deviant behavior lol. 😂
No. When I need to get a hold of a parent I don't call them on their cell phone, I call them on the pager that I give them that will vibrate and flash and let them know that they are needed in the children's nursery. If they leave the building that pager is not going to reach the coffee or a brunch location.
Agreed! Our church requires federal finger printing, background checks and training. We also have accessible cameras in the building, and it is run by the Mom's group in our women's organization. While it's not perfect, it definitely takes this kind of stuff seriously. All parents should take these things into consideration. 🤔
The numbers of abusers in mainstream religious denominations is generally accepted to be the same as larger society. The important question is: when it does happen, does the church (or whatever institution) hold the abuser accountable or help the abuser to hide what they did?
Newer research suggests that 93% of predators consider themselves religious. Newer research is emerging that shows that predators target religious groups because the religious organizations focus on forgiveness and assume their community is safe.
Children’s minister here. It’s not uncommon for older kids to come to church without their parents. But I’ve only seen one family drop off their babies and leave the building. It was because grandma was in the building, and grandma was their babysitter. Every week for several years they would drop off grandma and kids and pick them up 3 hours later. They eventually had 4 kids.
Don't do this. Huge liability.

Given the statistics of abusers who flock to the churches, I wouldn't recommend it. At least look at the statistics before making this decision.

I keep trying to share more detailed info and it gets deleted. Look into the statistics. Do not assume your family is safe. Stay safe.

😂 That's hilarious! Too bad we never did it
Tyranny needs to quickly decline from this man is tempting to perceive but I need to be careful and I need to not hate my life
Awesome Plans

If kids get saved because of this, the entire household benefits-it’s a great idea to do this
