Another great response! You should take a look at the Pulse concert from 1994 at Earls Court, London...a truly sublime live concert! Every track is 10/10 from start to crashing finale! If you want to see the group perform live when Roger was still part of the line-up I suggest Mother recorded live as part of their The Wall concert and especially Echoes recorded live at Pompeii in 1972. Enjoying your journey down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole!

Dark Side of the Moon - from start to finish. There is a reason why it is the fourth most successful album of all time.
Comfortably Numb is an absolute masterpiece and considered one of their greatest songs. The live version at the Pulse Concert is TOO Good to miss. It is a little longer, and sounds every bit as good as the studio version.
It sounds infinitely better than the studio version because there are no time constraints.
Now imagine that in concerts David Gilmour plays the second solo for more than five minutes and it's still not enough and every time I say to myself "don't let it end, don't let it end!". So I solve it by playing the whole thing again.
I see I don't have to direct you to play this song from the 1994 Pulse concert. It's not only a musical treat, it's visual ecstasy. After you watch this, you'll want to see the whole concert - I'm sure. It is one of the best live performances in the history of modern music. Fantastic!
Never a bad idea to start with the studio version and then see where they take it live.
I agree. Too many reaction videos (not this channel necessarily) start with a live version without ever knowing what the song originally sounded like with the studio version. You could be listening to a TERRIBLE LIVE VERSION!
I strongly recommend you watching this same song on the pulse live concert, it’s a must watch!

Sure the live Pulse concert is amazing. But - I personally don't like it as much as the original songs. Because it's not the original band. No Roger Waters, and even the back up singers, while still great, are no where near as good as the original studio album. IMO.
I won't listen to Pulse tunes, cuz no-waters = not-floyd for me!
Agree and like to add that the delicate sound of thunder version is better than pulse cause it’s closer to the original
Who needs Waters, He is an egotistic snob. He had every chance to reunite with the original members. He is an idiot. I got to see them in 75 and 77 before his bullshit antics
Pulse is important but yeah, it doesn't hold a candle to the originals.

If you want to have them carry on a little longer and see them actually when they were your age, check out the song"Echoes" Pink Floyd live in Pompeii 1971. That song and the visuals of an ancient Roman amphitheater with nobody in it except the band will take you on an incredible journey!!

This is the second best song on the album, right after *Mother* - most people say Comfortably Numb is the best song, and I can't really argue with them about that, I just think 'Mother' is an amazing song too 😁
25 yrs from now you'll listen to this again and feel like its the first time. Floyd lasts a lifetime
If you want to see them live in their heyday, Echoes live at Pompeii is provably the best option
I have three live performances that I consider the greatest of all time.
1. Peter Gabriel - Secret World Tour - in Your Eyes
2. Queen - Live Aid - The whole set.
3. Pink Floyd - Pulse concert - Comfortably Numb.
This order is random and fully interchangeable. All three will cure whatever ails your soul.
Time off of the Dark Side of the Moon album is a must. Really enjoy your reactions Rere!

There's nothing more flattering than a Floyd fanatic hearing the younger generation fade into The Pink Floyd experiment and us old Floyd fanatics admire the fact that we have been hitting that since the mid-60s early seventies and knowing that the music from that era was iconic and very connected

You should have listened to their Pulse concert version, its on another level
"The Wall" is a concept album - basically, the father was killed in WW2 - & was raised by an overprotective mother - the wall is an imaginary barrier designed to protect him - but it also isolates him from everybody else
Best to REALLY see the band members as they perform is to watch the Director's Cut of Live at Pompeii ... it's an EXPERIENCE !!! ❤❤❤

Try 'The great gig in the sky' by Floyd, a purely emotional reaction to the experience of death - Pulse if possible - normally I don't bother too much about watching a band/artist perform, I don't care if they're pretty or if they all have killer dance moves, and sometimes the visuals distract from the music, but do at least one live Pulse Floyd performance, because watching them is everything. I've seen them live twice, and my only regret is that I couldn't really explain or retain the experience. Video footage is as close as you can get - like your respo0nse to Procol Harem today - it'll never happen again! Breath of fresh air Rere, stay at it.

I previously stated that you need to listen to the whole lp, cuz TheWall is a concept album, and the songs&stories blend together...
Actually, you need to watch their MOVIE, TheWall, so you'll get the visual representations of Floyd's work! It's actually available here on YT.
The live version guitar solo at the end carries on a LOT longer, and it still feels like it should keep carrying on a lot longer than that 👍😁
in extreme cases that "lack of feelings" is called psychopathy, as in psychopath a person unable to experience empathy.
However I don't think that's what you're describing, you seem to be describing mental exhaustion.
In the Album The Wall, the fictional character Pink has empathetic feelings but identifies them as weakness and vulnerability so he builds a mental Wall to protect him. Sadly it becomes a Wall of isolation leading to madness.
As an "older" PF fan I would recommend working through the album "Wish You Were Here"
A celebration of the life of former band member Syd Barrett as well as lamenting his mental health decline aggravated by drug abuse and the pressures of the music industry.
Definitely watch the Pulse concert rendition of this song. Many consider David Gilmour's ending guitar solo there to be one of the greatest ever performed. 🙌

Please do the live Pulse version of this. Its 1000 times more enjoyable. The guitar solo goes on for like 8 minutes.
