This year increase in consumption of dollars by petroleum sector was mainly driven by higher intl oil prices commodity super cycle of many commodities like food and coal also contributed to worsening balance of payment crisis i think so as soon as world will be out of this crisis pakistan will rise strongly as exports are showing a positive trend but pakistan needs a stronger management in the fiscal side as tax to gdp ratio is stagnant and low for years

It's sad that despite having an expert and financial analyst like Dr. Ashfaque, we cannot steer our country out of this mess. The reason is nothing but uneducated 'ghunday' politicians and, of course, unnecessary interference by sold-out army generals.

How controversial u r? In the first place applauded ishaq dar' artificial exchange rate control due to American'gift and then back tracked when asked whether it was in exchange for proxy war.
This prof has mentioned the correct solutions. but they are unlikely to be realized in reality. the PK society has lost its way & cannot turn around anymore! Its a lost cause
