brilliant, I wonder if you may have more success with this speices if you were to just strip the female fish of there eggs or fry , another great video.
yes likely, with travel it is a bit tricky to maintain the water for a sensitive fish like this. I am sure a skilled Lake Tanganyika breeder would have no trouble.
So if I'm not mistaken, there's no more Ctenochromis in Tanganyika? (Since "Ctenochromis" horei is now Shuja horei...) How far is Shuja from Ctenochromis sensu stricto though?
correct, the Congolese ones are now back to "Haplochromis", the Tanganyika in Shuja. The C.scatebra paper outlines the differences. You should be able to find it online.
Your content on new species & info is like a gift. Beautiful fish indeed.

Thank you!
Mr. Oliver how in the world do you even find these places? You must have a great scouting network and lots of frequent flyer miles.
I did not find it, Hans van Heusden did and recommended to visit when i was in Tanzania.
Have you ever filmed neolamprologus christyi or telematochromis dhonti
Do you dive in lake malawi or tanganyika in the future?
maybe when there is some time.... Marine content will be first
