Scotty, I’m 71 years old and have pulled our 35 foot toy hauler fifth wheel from Washington state down to Arizona from the desert in Arizona up to the rim in Arizona back down to the desert all the way across the United States to Tennessee and all over in between. If I can do it you can do it.
A Couple words of advice take your time and make sure you check your tires.
Bad tires on a rig are horrible. The tire may look good but if it’s cheap and old spend the money to buy new ones. I have seen more blowouts on rigs that actually tear your rig apart.
Remember you’re traveling with your home and you don’t want your home destroyed so make sure your tires are good make sure they’re inflated properly and second of all make sure your rig is not over weight. One more piece of advice make sure your rig is packed properly. More weight up on the tongue less weight in the back, 40 /60 ratio.
You can take all my advice and throw it out or just listen to an old lady who has driven thousands of miles an has never had an accident . I do give thanks to God for His protecting hand on us as we travel.
PS, my husband is legally blind leaving me to do all the driving.
I like to drive and nothing scares me.

Those trees you didn't know what they were are almond & pistachios. That area thru the Central valley of California produces most of the "Diamond Almonds" & "Wonderful Pistachios". They also produce oranges, pomegranates, lemons, limes & grapefruits.
I spent decades driving I5, don't miss it one bit!!!

So glad to see you back. Terri, so sorry to hear you haven't been well, I am praying for you. Terri, I hope you are planning some cooking videos, I always love your cooking . I am now on a plant based diet or at least trying. It is very hard to change since I am not used to cooking without a meat.
Boy I know that feeling. We went plant-based many years ago and I still find it often to be lots more work to put together a vegan meal.
Mushrooms will be your friend they are a fantastic alternative to meat. Try as many different varieties as you can the big ones are delicious stuffed (If I am rushed for time I use a vegeburger patty its important though to coat your mushroom first with a thin layer of butter or oil before stuffing keeps them juicy and plump) or you can slice them into fat slices (has to be thick) and fried (important to fry on one side till they are brown then turn them) so delicious and really I prefer them to meat these days to me they taste better! Give them a try.
I hear you Ann. All of these folks going vegetarian.....not sure I could handle it.

1/'13/2022 watched 1st Christmas in AZ again...Dana's kids were so young...I was thinking about all the excitement RTR was and Quartsite RV show...was so much fun back then. Glad you are in new digs ♥️
I was at Harris Ranch on NYE! I live an hour away. The fog has been bad here in the Central Valley. It improves near noon time. Safe travels! The hotel, restaurant and gift shop are very nice. There are a lot of pistachio and almond trees planted along Hwy 99. It’s nice to see you both traveling and making video’s. You’re a nice couple and Punkin is so cute!
I like the name "Backpack"....as in "Honey could you grab my glasses they are in the backpack"...:) And if you think of it, it is like a giant backpack carrying everything you need.

Orange Grove Rv Resort in Bakersfield is an excellent place to stop and recover before the last big push.Laundries,showers,orange trees where you can pick all you want,huge pull thrus,grocery stores close.We stay 2 nights there on our way to Palm Springs.Get all our stuff in order so when we get to our lot,back in,unhook,crack a beer and we are done

Stayed home in Alaska this winter instead of traveling to Arizona. Memories watching you traveling through California. I am really warming up to ‘Punkin’. We have a German Shepard and he can not ride in the front with us while traveling. What a fun dog to travel with.

The 5th wheel is beautiful and I'm sure very comfortable, but I would dread towing it especially into the evening and parking in the dark. You guys are getting of the age that long days on the road (pulling that monster or not) carry more risk than reward. Slow down and enjoy the journey - adapt one of the rules like 2-2-2 (

We hate followed your channel for years. We live in Massachusetts but today we went from Tallahassee to Duson Louisiana. We have Havasu City on our radar in a couple of weeks. Someday our paths will cross, till then, Safe Travels. Last September we did 8,000 miles and it took me several days to lose the driving stress, but our rig is a van and a cargo trailer conversion so much smaller. You will find driving more peaceful soon.
