How does she have an auto loan for a car, but only has no-fault insurance? Whenever there is a lien holder on your loan, they require you to have full coverage insurance. I've never heard of this. No company is going to take a chance of you only having no-fault.
While I only watched the video once, I thought the victim DID have full coverage, based upon the car being financed. The insurance company then decided to not cover medical bills. I suspect that they are trying a gambit where they screw over a policy holder and then see if anyone complains. When the hospital/clinic asks if there is any other insurance, if you effectively have "double coverage," what the insurance companies do is point the finger and say that its the other insurer's responsibility with both stating/claiming this, leaving the victim screwed over in part or in whole.

At least in CA- Full coverage insurance covers 100,000/300,00 towards personal medical, 50,000/100,000 liability, and up to 50,000-ish, or more, towards covering the cost of the vehicle in case of an accident.
It wasn't necessarily that the insurance didn't cover it, it sounds she got some medical bills and didn't resubmit them to her car insurance for payment. Having been through too many accidents, I found you have to force them to cover what they are supposed to sometimes, especially when it's car insurance paying medical bills from an accident... I'm also curious how she had lawyer fees if she was working with the Prosecutor and didn't have a lawyer. At first it sounded like she got restitution on the criminal charges and then filed a civil case for the same stuff, but as they went on the lawyer clarified that the civil case was from the insurance company and the restitution on her criminal case was for what the victim had to pay out of pocket. Sadly it sounds like she paid extra on the civil judgement instead of the criminal judgement, if she had done the opposite she might have been done with the criminal case now.
That translator case was crazy. Translator cases need to be done IN PERSON. The translator should be sitting next to the person needing the translator. And they usually are telling the person everything that’s being said in the courtroom and can point to each person who speaking to one of another. Translator cases can not be done on zoom calls, it’s too misleading because she thinks everything being said is directed to her.
