I like the way you do things, sir. Your attention to detail is impeccable. If you're going to do something, do it right.
Keep up the great job on everything you and your son are doing. Be safe out there!
Thank you for the support and the comment! Give the video a like if you enjoyed it and hell drop a comment on something you would like to see in the video maybe we can incorporate it!
Nicely done, I like how you replaced all 4 drums and bearings instead of only the one that was running hot.
Thats how it should go.. plus it puts us back at square one all the way around
You are very good teacher very easy to understand and very detailed. Keep up the good work .Drive safe my friend
Thank you a lot. Just showing things I’ve learned over the years.
Glad you caught that bearing there instead of on the interstate
Yea we are too it definitely could’ve been a worse situation
Thanks…very informative
Youre welcome
Man I have ton of of respect for you and you're Olady ..
good hardworking ppl not hurting anyone not asking for any hand outs. a true American is the way I read u . I know this is a year old video.I hope you're ride has held up. And you've had many blessings!!
It has held up great! had some repairs here and there but nothing major by any means. thanks for watching our vids!
very cool, I thought about hotshotting with the same truck (more space, love freightliner)
It’s definitely a huge step up from a ram 3500 .. full air ride too cant complain
Scheafers gear oil is definitely worth the money
Man you are so on point 👍🏾💪🏾
I dont know everything, but i try to just share what I know so others can better themselves too and be armed with knowledge.
Im about to get in to the hot shot business.I guess I'm gonna lean towards the BIG SHOT. I'm on my way to pick up up my new trailer 2023 kraftsman 40,000lb hydraulic dovetail 43 foot with neck deck .
Your get at it work ethics makes me really want to get at it.. thanks for all information
glad to see you want to get that hustle on. just do your research and learn the market and do whats best for you! we just upgraded our trailer as well its a diamond c 48' step deck 40k as well
Appreciate your information and positive attitude.
I gotta say that it feels good to work on your own equipment... Knowing that it'll be done right...!!!!
Your truck looks awesome...!!!!
I'm jealous...!!!!
Man, just keep your eye on your goal and speak it into existence. It can happen for you. It took me 15 years!
I enjoy DIY type videos. Last year I had replace all 4 hub and brake assemblies on my toy hauler. I think I over greased them and blew out the inner seals. Took me a weekend to do it but saved my self $$$$.
Yea we did some research in the process of rebuilding our drum/hub assemblies and we were told to pack it halfway and leave the other half room for air . But definitely a money saver doing it yourself!
Doing work on your own is not only a cost saving but knowledge of maintance and up keep saves road repairs.
Spending to upgrade and have a quality repair worth every cent saved
You hit the nail on the head
If only I knew how to do repair work myself like this. I have no clue how to do what you just did.
😭😂 well fortunately for you it you really really wanna learn there are better channels that really go in depth on how to do this kinda stuff
I feel for you my brother. I will not run drum brakes on anything. They are very labor intensive.
LMAO!!!!! I Love the SHIRT!!!!! At the beginning of the vid.
I happened upon your channel by accident. I am very glad that I did. I thoroughly enjoy your content.
Thank you for the support! We appreciate it!
Great job

Build a shop next. Find a nice piece of land in rural Georgia and build a 30’ x 75’ shop that you can drive the whole truck in. Keep an old car or motorcycle there so you can go home as needed. Should be able to find something within 30 miles of home. Love your home but you need an inside work area, called a garage.
Agree with you 100% we definitely have talked about that and would love to make that happen!
Wow. You found the bearing wear just in time. Can the drum be turned to remove grooves or is that just on smaller vehicles? Great content. Thanks.
Its hard to find someone who will turn drums nowadays. We ended up just replacing them all around and kept it moving
Good video O G triple OG....I would keep the old bearings on the truck for back up. 2 ND I would drain the new hub oil.and replace it with Lucas Big struck oil stop leak until you eventually run grease. Lastly look into some Centramatic wheel balancers. They will prevent wheel hop, lower wheel temperature and save the bearings from the wheel being un true. Good job fellas. 👏
Already got the centramatic wheel balancers on the truck absolutely love them .. will definitely be moving toward that in the future for the trailer. Also we already have new spare bearings races and seals inner and outer so we dont even have to worry about running an old ones
👍👍👍
I wonder if aluminum rims on the trailer would help lower the temperature of the wheel hub/bearings/ seals...
I know aluminum rims are expensive but it may be cheaper in the long run...!!!!
And your trailer will look great too...!!!!
Just don't put white walls on the trailer.... That would be over doing it...!!! Lol
Wow, I thought that same thing as aluminum is a better heat sink!
Next time give us a time lapse of the actual dismantling and repair 👨🏾🔧
I transport vehicles, the insurance requirements are 100 K cargo, and $1 million liability. When I see videos like this, I’m curious on what the insurance is for miscellaneous cargo expensive cargo lol
We have the same insurance amount as you do.
Hey mate I am really enjoying your channel I am a owner driver in Western Australia. I run a 6 tonner it’s a 2012 UD straight truck it’s a flat bed. I started with a 1995 Mitsubishi canter 3 tone flat top I bought for $3500 dollars. I ran that truck for years with no air conditioning spring suspension all round and it’s only has a 5 speed no turbo.the roads here in Western Australia are really bad as we are on sand here in PERTH so you get a lot of sagging on the asphalt and underwash.it really throws around the cab. it. it’s a back up truck now. I sure do enjoy the comfort of a modern truck. And congratulations on your new truck and waiting for so long to afford it rather than what a lot a folks do borrow too much. You are a good role model. was wondering what you paid for your freighliner truck . Or one similar.? And how much dose a gooseneck trailer normally cost? I really like how you guys in the USA can run the gooseneck trailers on your pickup trucks that can carry a good pay loads. And I like the fact that in your videos you speak so calmly it’s relaxing and very informative. Well done all round !! Happy trucking 👌👍😊best regards Darryl
Hey Darryl this was such an amazing comment for many reasons. I started over the road in a ‘88 Ford F800 it didnt have AC the lights was just ball of wires that you jiggled around until the ones you wanted came on. It was Spring ride. I had to wear combat boots and socks to keep my feet from burning up. It had a tractor engine in it made in brazil for only 3 years and it wouldnt pass emissions in the US so they stopped making it. As for the truck they go for about 120k-140k used and 195,999 new (i didnt pay any of those prices of course but now thats what theyre going for)
Whats the O.D on the tool you are using to set the seals thank you
Honestly i would have to measure and get back to you on that because i dont know off hand
@@adventuresintrucking1995 I order one and it way to big
I was wondering if aluminum wheels would run cooler on your trailer ?
Another person said that in the comments as well i think we both kinda came to the conclusion that that is definitely a possibility if nothing else better at dissipating heat!
What kind of truck is that and price range?
New theyre going for like 195k and the big block ones are at like 240k. Of course ours is used. Those run you about 90-120k for the older ones and around 120-150k for the new model used ones
@@adventuresintrucking1995 thanks. Really sweet looking truck. But why not just go big rig for the lrice
@@hatchett999ify dont need a big rig .. this truck is dual purpose so it pulls our camper as well and cant go to campground to class 8 tractor and while you probably could get away with one at ATV/SXS places not the look we want when we pull up
@@adventuresintrucking1995 totally understandable. Great setup. I’ve been giving it a lot of though coming from a 5500. I love it but would like a bit more power.
@@hatchett999ify definitely recommend it if you can swing it
I don't trust the bearings with oil...
I'm installing old school greased bearings...!!!!
It seems that bearings aren't made of the same quality as in the past...
There are bearing companies for industrial use in Houston Texas and I'm thinking about replacing mine with those...
Of course I'm going to pay 2-3 times more but it'll be worth it... Oh, they also sell bearing seals Wich I'm also going to replace with the high end industrial seals also....
Idk how i missed this comment, but we switched our bearings from oil to grease and we havent run them yet but EVERYONE is saying this is the way so we are gonna give it a go
Sounds awesome, would you be able to put that info in the comments? I agree with you on the current quality. I used DEXTER parts and it’s all made in China! Interesting huh?
Also why did you go with a gooseneck trailer for that truck and not a step deck or a semi truck style flatbed?
On that trailer if you plan on running it for a long time i would maybe just upgrade to disc brakes!!!
This trailer was free.99 coming from our dually setup 🤣 but dont worry we will be getting a bigger trailer
@@adventuresintrucking1995 nice!!
I avoid having a shop work on any of my stuff. When they charge what they charge, I feel that the tech doesn’t have my best interest at heart. He may “camp out” on my work order which costs me money. I just don’t trust them anymore these days, work ethic just isn’t what it use to be. If a person knows how to turn a wrench and repair things, they could really save some money and have peace of mind that the job was done the way they wanted and corners weren’t cut.
I agree with you 100% i wouldn’t consider this a difficult repair to do by any means and just know how to can save a lot of money.
Yes that job you have just done is a pretty straight forward job for anyone who has some automotive mechanical skills about themselves, and I agree with you that some of the shops charge to much for labor, and I think they camp on some of the work orders and the techs don't have your job at there best interest. I also do my own work if I can in my garage or driveway. So thanks for the video and talk, I hope these people get there shit together on your loads and it smooths out for you stay safe out there on the road.
I'm 10 hours late watching your channel...
I've been burning 3 trees that have fallen after a strong Windy day...
Sheesh i know that was a rough day
This would of been a lot more enjoyable if you had added CC for us hearing impaired. It's cost a lot less to do it yourself than to have it done on the road, good job.
Ill definitely look into doing that for future videos im sure its a simple click of a button that i hadnt clicked
Update: I went back and added the CC for this video as well as future videos thank you for the support and feedback!
glad you doing great brother this ya boy rell supporting 🫡
Man, we appreciate you supporting us Bruh, thanks.
