Great review! Between the State 2.0 and the Trip, which one you think is better to learn tricks behind the boat??

Thanks for your question! When wanting to learn more tricks behind the boat, the board shape plays a big role in how easily you will progress. The State 2.0 has a non-symmetrical board shape and is equipped with a larger toe-side area than it does heel-side. This board shape makes it easier to enable heel-side turns and also allows the rider to dig their heels into the water more, creating higher speeds towards the wake. While this is a great thing to be able to do, it also makes the board a little more tricky to engage in toe-side turns since the toe-side edge is larger in surface area than the heel-side. Another thing to look for is a boards camber/rocker profile. The State 2.0 has a hybrid rocker/camber profile that makes it great for hitting the wake and having a responsive yet forgiving feel.
The Trip on the other hand is another great option for progressing behind the boat. The Trip has a symmetrical design with even toe-side and heel-side edges. This makes the board not only forgiving, but easier to maneuver on both sides compared to the State 2.0. Another thing to note about the Trip is the aggressive rocker profile which will give the rider a great pop off of the wake. Having a more aggressive rocker profile will help the rider get to those heights to achieve larger tricks \\ Here is our full video breakdown of the Liquid Force Trip wakeboard, so you can compare side-by-side: ruclips.net/video/qtkUTizEzHo/видео.html // Hope this helps & if you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to our customer service team here: 1-800-818-0946

Hey Peter you talk about the size at 2m35 but i am french and not sure to understand what you said...
It is easier to do tricks with a bigger size?
Btw i am 5'11 too but my weight is 215lbs (98kg).
Should i go with 140 or 145 ? I consider Murray Pro and State 2.0 for my SeaDoo Wake Pro 230 2024.
Thank you so much for taking the time and great video ! ;)

The 145 would be good for you. Little more stability and pop off the wake

Thanks for your question! Hard to say which board would fit you better for getting back in the water after your break, but let me help break down some features of each board you mentioned. The Hyperlite State 2.0 board has a non-symmetrical design and is intended to give the rider more speed and pop when approaching the wake, making turns, and hitting jumps. This board has a longer toe-side edge than it does heel-side edge to allow the rider to dig their heels into the water, making it easier for them to engage in a turn or a jump.
The O'Brien System wakeboard is a great all-around board for beginner or advanced riders. This board has a symmetrical shape and is designed with a traditional fin set up, equal nose and tail lengths, and an overall forgiving and responsive feel. \\ You can find our video review of the System board here: ruclips.net/video/4AdQe60GTZA/видео.html // Out of the two boards you mentioned I believe the System may be more forgiving and more adaptable to new and experienced riders with its symmetrical design and overall traditional-like build. We hope this helps!

So the system sounds like a winner, is the any other board you rank higher then this one?

I just rememberd that i was riding the Hyperlite Belmont from 2001, that was my absolute favourite back in the days, really loved that floaty playfull feel. Maybe i just should get a new Hyperlite murry and hope it will ride like the one from 2001 😂

The system wakeboard has been one of our top selling wakeboards for the past several years, so its a great board to recommend for anyone to ride regardless of rider level! I'm not comfortable ranking any board over another since they each (mainly) have different rider intentions. For example, some of the wakeboards are designed for park riding, some are built for behind the boat, some are built to perform on both types of terrain, some are built for beginners, some for experienced riders, and so-on. Feel free to check out our website's 'wakeboarding' landing page linked here:

Here you'll find all the wakeboards we offer. A great majority of our boards have product videos that breakdown each of the boards to give you a better idea of what that specific product is intended for!
