I have been practicing Tahitian warm ups for a while. Im not building up the stamina my legs tire easy. Can you do a drill that will strengthen my Ami. What stretches should I do. And how often should I practice.
    Thank you for tour help

Fire Forbes You should actually try and do yoga/pilates, as well as weight training. You should be able to build cell memory by doing each step continuously, but that alone won’t make you stronger. You need actual muscles for that. Most dancers who struggle, is either due to one of two things or even both: “proper technique/form, and muscle power”. Without the two, you won’t see any results. Ami/Fa’arapu should come from using your stomach muscles. Ori is a core dance after all. The rest is the shifting of your knees which also creates the speed and balance. You should work on strengthening both your stomach and legs, as with Ori Tahiti you carry your whole body on your legs as we bend. Do stretches that works on your hips, back, legs etc. Warm up is equally important, if not more. How often you practice depends on the result you want. Professionals dance several times a week. It’s all about priority and passion. If you can’t do at least once a week, then even just 5-10 minutes a day is better than nothing. But the more you do it, the better😉 Ori is a dance form that needs constant work. If you take breaks, you will loose it. I speak from experience in that field😏 Good luck☺️
