    Cardiff, Wales.
    Good L/S's of steam locomotive moving at speed through the picturesque countryside. Various shots of the main streets in Cardiff. The Mayor informs us that their are quarter of a million people living in the city. Good L/S's of the Cardiff castle. L/S's of the Civic Hall - "The National Museum of Wales."
    Aerial shots of the city including the University college. L/S's of lighthouse which is a memorial to Captain Scott. L/S of the Cathedral. Very good footage of the Cardiff docklands, including cranes lifting goods on and off container ships. L/S's of coal wagons and coal being poured down large shoot.

      My father did too, he came from Gabalfa and it was common back then to swim in the lake. Also, Llandaff fields had an open air swimming pool which I swam in as a girl. Sadly, things don't often change for the better.

    Cardiff went into decline in the late 60,s and thatcher killed it off when she came to power. The greatest coal export docks in the world no longer exists. I was born in Cardiff 1962

      Nothing to do with Thatcher ~ Cardiff's decline is mostly due to the criminally incompetent City Councils, over decades, who have been destroying everything in sight. Devolution didn't help either. It just gave yet another Government layer to be paid for out of local money, that otherwise could be spent on improvents and/or preservation.
