- What makes a DPS class amazing for PvE? In this video, I go over the 10 factors I think are important and provide examples. I also want to hear your opinions, so I have codes to giveaway! To better assign a tier or provide honest reviews, I want to come up with a better system to rate them. Many of the S-Tier classes like Rathgricy, Ronin, Heinrich, Genos, Thor, and more have many ideal factors mentioned here, so it's a good place to start.

Genos/Rath Auto Accept dailies then switch to Ronin for WAS ☝️ this is the reality in ROM right now and it is sad really Some players often seek out help from other players ans they get ignored So what my guild does is run through everythin on Monday server refresh so when Tuesday comes we spread out and help other people as well 👍 as whales i think this is how we contribute to the longevity of ROM 😍

I think the most important is knowledge of the instance itself because some people still dont understand and just get carried.
what they usually do is join get carried and done with the instance or leave the party whenever the runner is failed.
A very detailed review of characters. Don't stop on making videos like this.!
For me, self heal like life steal or invulnerability would be one of the most important factors.
After that the aoe damage and range comes into place, i mostly focus on airship pve.

I go full dps :)
Survability u acquire when u know the mechanics of the fight, so it will be much easier and u will die less even on a glass cannon.
I do airship as ronin and everything else as genos. Would love to go genos for everything but airship right now is not good for magic dps :(
my top key factors are survivability, stable Damage per second, can be used in most of instances, and rune reliance,

You are extremely right.
Fenrir is really fun. My brother has it unlocked at 7/7 and it was fun rolling around hitting 200m in instances.
Nice, that is some insane damage!
1 survivability - there is a max number of resurrections in a dungeon if you max it out or pass a certain limit you fail the run
2 damage - even if the damage is low as long as your are surviving and are able to decent damage you can complete most instance except airship which is time limited for sss
3 utility - most difficult runs need support to complete how well you can assist your party if you dont have damage your self is very useful if not mandatory ex saint and da

I'm semi-F2P and not a main DPS, so for me the most important factors are (in order of relevance):
1. Amount of Depo/BCC/effor needed to make it viable to build a reasonably working build.
2. DPS: damage frequency, ignore defense, skill multipliers, elemental convertion, etc, gets lumped here. Burst damage is more relevant at Boss Hunting; I'm not sure if that's PvE or another category.
3. AoE damage: I've found it be very important for crowd control, damage "scoreboard" and mechanics in which you must kill smaller mobs to hit main target. Might fireback with Cait's porcupines lol
4. Suvaibaility, to solo instances without much effort of berries. Always taking for granted a Devine or Kobold Leader card for heals. "Range" of skills/AA lumped in here too.

ronin, genos and rath are best for all runs. will wait for khalitsburg if she could be add up with this 3
1st survivability- wont matter if you have whale in party, dying too fast and often is a fail in airship.
2nd damage frequency- as you mention, it help against shield and help keep debuff up.

DPS class PVE, meta job or not if doesn't know the mechanics of every instances will be a burden on every runs. Knowing the mechanics of instances increases the chance of survivability, as they say dead dps = 0 dps.

If the Auto Attack or Skill damage is counting ATK + MATK

1.survivability is the most important for me, no.2 should be aoe/dps and no. 3 range to easily avoid aoe dmg from bosses
Im now using Thor for most easy instances because of the Ease of Use and automatic dmg but then for the difficult ones i change to Ronin, the dmg is insane.
would love to have like a Bapho card for Thor so that every hit would dmg in area hehe

For me personally is :
-Damage potential such as how much the dmg or frequency of the damage (this will determine if that class can be dps or not)
-Difficulty of build (no matter how busted the class, if that class is hard to build you will just become NPC if your build not well enough. This including rune, mdef switch, etc)
-Survivability (Dead dps = 0 dps)
-Convertible Element/Have dominant element
-Long Range
-Aoe/Multiple hit
-Have a way to restore hp(such as Lifesteal or Healing)
-Have utility(good bonus so even if you can't deal damage, you still have something useful)

Criteria:
1. level of difficulty to Build ( Gears/Cards/Enchants )
2. Rune dependency
3. speed of Burst damage
4. Survival in all instances
5. Free to play friendly or not ( requires a lot for different Shadow gear/Mirror/Relics )
6. Usable for All or Most instances
7. dependency to supports or not
8. resistance from debuffs and mechanics
9. longevity in game ( can still be played for several more patches )
10. Dependency from Depo
Great points! I agree difficulty to build is important. I think that's why AARM is so discouraging, since it's very hard to build. Whereas some classes you can use unoptimized builds and blow them away in damage short to middle term.
I also like classes that can be used in multiple instances. I used to switch between rath and saitama, but now I just use ronin for everything.
Good point about resistance from debuffs and mechanics too.
@@WobblyWallaby some DPS jobs are highly capable to deal damage, how ever, several game mechanics strangle them thus making them unoptimal to play, like Rath, rath is basically useless on 3f because of the debuff mechanics and guard mechanics of some mvp. can only be used when partnered with a support.

I think sustain is super important for a DPS. Big numbers are good but don't mean much if you don't last long too!

I use magic doram in PVE... not because its my main.. its because.. it can run any weeklies specially cml 3f.. at 65% depo.. i have mo problem in running cml and lil.. in psr i have a decent.damage..
That's great that you can deal with CML 3F with 65% depo. I should try out magic doram in CML to see how it is. I only have one +15 accessory though, it is pretty hard to snap :(
@@WobblyWallaby magic doram becomes more popular this season , due to its buff in 6v6... ufo can become 3 , gatling and lunatic becomes 2 by chances.. yes, you should try it, there is little people know how doram becomes more powerful in CML3f , magic doram with DA or like thor or fenrir... can hold the MVP .. it can burst easy.. imagine its like 3 dorams ..
Will only cast 3 factors so the list wont be too long, but in order of importance: Stable damage over time, survivability, convertible damage.
Im not a type of gamer who relies only on 1 class for every content, since ROM provides us this opportunity i like to have multiple options for each circunstance.

I also like multiple options and it's great that ROM has many classes that are viable in PvE. It makes the game more fun to play around with different classes and builds.
Im a victim of class discrimination. LB doesnt get accepted even though I outdps most of the ronins and raths.
That sucks, are you using Photon Cannon? That build is crazy strong.
@@WobblyWallaby yup I’m on PC but due to discrimination I rarely get accepted. I just create my party as the lead only to see fake dps rath and ronin mostly. Instead of me getting carried, surprisingly I’m the one carrying lol

-Criteria
1.Reliably multi hit low cooldown skill delay skills.
2.Rune good bonuses like rathgracy dmg increase when movespeed is at 200 or something or nogu runes which dips to ignore def and their self tornado as example.
3. User friendly on weapon. Like rathgracy even at +10/+12 asnlong as you have 7/7 and rest of the gear decent or at +15, you can still do decent dps.
4.Survivability like HP relic or built in skill/passive.
5.able to take advantage of elemental weakness.
6.very high dmg modifiers.
7.not needing to click millions of buttond preferably(if I'm the one using it)
Good points, I do like the user friendly weapon part, I think that's why +15 heavens for RM is so annoying to get (since it makes such a big difference). I also prefer not to click a million buttons since I'm often controlling other characters at the same time. Magic doram is one of those classes where you need to click a million things and it feels stressful!

Other factors that you don't mention about good DPS are
1. "The ability of using skill without casting (instant casting)"
It's important to pass dungeon with affix/face boss with debuff like Oracle/Airship.
You can say Rath is good but I see many Rath is useless (if they don't have picolo relic) when they face affix/debuff that give longer casting time.
2. "The ability of lifesteal (gain heal from using skill/doing damage)"
Can have lifesteal is important too... Even without a good damage, having lifesteal is a plus for survivability.
Dead DPS is nothing than the survive one.
True, I really don't like the sandstorm messing up my skills in oracle dungeon. Good point about lifesteal, having built in skills is great. Although life steal cards exist, they are pretty expensive and many people don't have access to them.

Fenrir Can survive longer that what was shown. You just need to roll every 3 seconds.

Zero DMG equal useless, it's defend how you play and your build.
Since i have tried 3 different classes physical dps ( Taekwon, Rath, and Fenrir ) which i usually have the most dps of the team.
What i prefer most is dps that have enough survivability (heal, anti death), beside that the dmg calculation of the skills that multiply high enough so with low depo can still be decent dps, and easy runes! Lol.
But most importantly you should have fun with the way the class playstyle 😂 which for me is Fenrir 🤪

Having fun is important :) It's great that you like Fenrir, I need to revisit that class. For Fenrir's survivability, do you use life steal cards or HP relic? His roll has 1 second of invulnerability, but I assume that isn't very consistent as anti-fatal.
@@WobblyWallaby for me personally fenrir did the most damage between those three with same equipment and deposit. So i quite enjoyed it a lot in pve and in pvp too! I use fenrir in pvp woe woc. Being the only player that join in woe in my guild (sad) i could take on a small castle by myself and defend it with fenrir :) so its very good job overall for me.
No my hp relic still 79% activation 😭 and yes the timing of 1sec inv is very important :)
