( just a regular normal 03 Marine) I built me a 20 inch Larue with an Griffin OTB PSR jsut for my own memories of carrying the long rifle and the M4s.. it shoots great. i am lucky to have a 300-600 yrd range gun club here in Maine.. plus i reload soo , i can truly understand your build. Excellent and very nice build, sir. That flash indicator is pretty impressive at that distance. Very helpful especially with 40-55 grain varmint pills going that far out. For me, would be hard to hear but that indicator would be golden. Great job on getting the view through the spotting scope too...I find that very hard to accomplish on my end.
Love the build man I built one and I love that Douglas barrel best barrel I have did you break the barrel in with kg2 bore polish like Douglas recommends for there barrels
I have a rare Colt Mk12 HBAR. Tricked out with a VCOG, Atlas bipod, sure fire scout and Geissele trigger as well as other mods. I can shoot through the same hole at 100 yards with 77 grain BTHP.

My ol Doublestar is kimda mk12ish…I git several handloads that printed .5” with a 16” chrome lined…coyotes sense the death round here and stay just inside the timber…my 110 v max run 3500fps from fn spr and 95gr v max 6.5prc waypoint I made it to 3666fps and son it’s wicked…sounds like a 155…💥🚀💪🏻👊🏻
so im late to the party, first off, nice gun. second, there is a proper way to install the collar. leave it loose, put the suppressor on and tighten it all the way ( 7-9 turns is proper amount) and once it is tight on the collar, then you tighten the set screw.
I've been wanting to build one of these because this is what I carried in the Marine Corps, so I want to have my rifle with me. How much did this cost to build? Also, now don't quote me, but I'm almost positive we used heavier rounds that 69 grain. I want to say.. it was 75 grain? Its been almost 20 years.. so I can't really remember. I think our barrels were 20 inch barrels too.. it made it a little unwieldy with that can on.. I never liked using the can anyway, because it didn't do much for those faster rounds we used in them, I always ended up taking the can off and daypacking it away. I always put it back on when packing the rifle away tho.
18 inch 1-7 twist Douglas barrel from PRI, 510$ before taxes. Knights ras ff long, 500-1500 depending on secondhand market or if you buy directly when it’s in stock. 150$ colt upper, 80$ if you buy non colt. Lower can be almost anything since we don’t have full auto but a PSA with a geissle ssae isn’t a bad idea

Dwell time is defined as “1, The amount of time the bolt remains closed as a projectile travels down the barrel. 2, the amount of time that gases from a fired cartridge act on the bolt carrier group, which is determined by the gas tube length.” That would mean a rifle length system having the furthest distance from gas block to the bolt would have the longest dwell time between the 4 systems. Rifle, Mid, Carbine, & Pistol. I’m not being sarcastic or condescending. Am I missing something?

Somethings not right with your chrono. My Douglas 18” shoots Black Hills 77gr over 2800fps. Anything lighter is even faster. I’ll bet your deck railing was messing with the reading.
I will do another video just shooting this rifle and chrono'ing it out in the open. FYI we have chronod from the balcony with numerous rifles and it was accurate.
I wouldn’t say it passes the 10’ test at all. The profile or the lower and grip give it away from a mile away. Broom handle isn’t an issued part. I just wouldn’t call it a clone, inspired is a good call.
