Wow, Zoe is such a natural at this. I know she has acting experience but live comedy is hard to do and she NAILED IT.

If it wasn't for the interloper Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson and Zoe Kravitz would be discovering the joys of Petes pierced pencil head for the routine 2-4 months time period. I agree. It might if before this sketch there hadn't been notorious cases of female teachers committing statutory rape on their male students then going on to marry them and later it happened. But if anything, it's the other way around. At least two decades have passed since the most infamous case I can think of.
Wasn't sure how she's be on SNL since she doesn't do much comedy. But she crushed this. No flubs. And her comic timing was so on point.
She is certainly one of the better hosts in the last several years
Check out her show 'High Fidelity' (2020) Zoe is killer and won't be going anywhere but up.
Her deadpan was great in the High Fidelity series
This and Word Crunch. Loved it.
Lots of them have never done comedy, a bunch have never even done acting. She did very excellently.
You can always tell the confidence they have in a guest host by whether they let them carry an entire sketch like this.
Zoe did a great job and that line she said about he’s trying his best cracked me up.
At least they didn’t let Cecily overpower her.

She plays a girl with anorexia who escapes from an in patient treatment center with a guy with severe tourettes and another dude with severe OCD, they steal the psychiatrists car to drive across the country to the beach

Actually SNL has been very good most of the season. I think it started with the Kim Kardashian episode. Go watch the bit where a guy (Kieran Culkin) is trying to cancel his cable. One of the funniest skits I've ever seen.

This has got to be one of the best sketches I've seen from SNL
Errr ... there were hundreds of better ones. But it is genuinely funny which is I suppose rare for recent lame standards of SNL. I am from Poland and I only started watching SNL through youtube two years ago regularly. And their best was imho circa from 2000 to 2013 when Wiig was a regular and the writing was consistently good.

I feel like a lot of that has to do with Beck leaving. The finance role here has Beck written all over it.
@@gildamonroe3223 dunno why, but for this I think Mickey could have fitted in the role of the husband, Kyle as the still-eating-cos-the-speech-was-too-short host, and Beck as the guy who talks at the very beginning of the scene. Now that Beck has left, I guess they had to shuffle all the cards...

when i first saw kyle and cecily as a couple in this skit i thought it was sort of miscasting then i realized it went perfect eventually.
Yo congrats on Zoe for nailing that speech. I feel like anyone else would've stumbled a few times during that but she did that pretty clean. And it was funny.

Finally a little dark humor on SNL
There's been quite a bit of dark humor this season: R Kelly stuff, a cut for time but uploaded sketch about murderers running an air B&B, Kim K's monologue, Andrew Dismukes' predicted death, a cannibal houseguest twist during a seemingly sentimental pretape, dying patient in TikTok sketch, Alex Moffat confessing to killing a man, boy scouts being swept out to sea in a flood, "Clown Abortion" (if you count that one as dark), Mulaney monologue, sexual harassment seminar last week, etc etc...plus stuff from other seasons...and if you're being sarcastic nevermind lol.
lost it when she took out all those phones, and Zoe is really funny. I hope she gets to do some comedy movies in the near future

Always keep my expectations low for first-time hosts, but Zoe was actually incredible. She seemed so comfortable and legitimately carried some sketches like this one. One to have back for sure!

Zoe should be a cast member. Seriously, this was soooo good.
When you first watch the sketch, you think her line about how "we've both seen my dad naked" is a reference to an embarrassing accident. When you watch it a second time, you can't help but wonder if it was something really messed up.
My first thought was as an adult the friend hooked up with the Dad.
Just imagine if bridesmaids do this before you get married. 98% of wedding would be called off.

But isn't this exactly what groomsmen do?? Tell horribly awful stories of embarrassing situations that make brides cringe!
technically the partner would have to file for an annulment since the speech wouldn't happen until they get to the reception but yeah... 😆

This is sincerely one of the best acted, best written sketches they’ve done in a long time. It’s such smooth writing and hits classic beats which is why I think the audience wasn’t used to it ❤

I feel like this is the first time in a long time that I’ve seen a sketch properly ended. The simple “I’m gunna die.” Was so much better than the usual drug out additional awkward dialogue.
Her delivery of every line is perfect. I didn't even know who this was.
Considering her mom grew up on a sitcom, she's had a little bit of exposure to the concept of comedy.
