Don’t worry about riding alone. I’m 67 and don’t plan on stopping until I can’t throw my leg over the bike. I primarily ride alone and when i do just avoid anything really difficult or potentially injury possible and you should be good. My tdub is a year old now and I’m not gonna replace the chain until it absolutely needs it. I usually look for dirt roads but avoid single track for lone riding. Enjoy your bike i do mine.
Hey how are you I have replied to your channel before, love your vids I just thought I should tell you more about the chain. I have the 2021 TDUB and I have put on 7300 miles so far I have tightened the chain 4 times now, I'm at the last notch on the the chain adjuster. So wanted to let you know I expect you will get around 8500 miles with the stock chain and that's about it. I need to order another and better chain, so when you hit around 7000 miles start looking around for a new chain.
Also I wanted to tell you a funny story about what happened to me on the way to work. 80% of those miles I stated below are from commuting back and fourth to work. The one day on the way to work the chain was really loose I ignored it bad mistake. I left the gas station parking lot pulled out in front of a semi, normally it would not have been a problem, but I pinned the bike chain popped off truck locked up it's wheels , driver blasted horn I was so lucky I got out of the way in time pucker factor 1000 LOL.
Drop the rear sprocket to 44 teeth and install an O-Ring or X-ring chain, improved the bike quite a bit and drops the top end RPM's down without affecting the lower end pull in 1st gear much at all.
