Riding My Horse on a Trail Ride! | Horse Riding. I know how much ya'll have requested a video of me riding, so here is the first of more to come!! I love horseback riding and going on trail rides :) We walked for most of it, and then trotted, loped & galloped for some!

i haven't ridden in about 9 months now, and it's KILLING me not doing it! i miss it so much! i keep watching riding videos and rewatching ones i've seen like a dozen times now to try and fill this little empty gap in my heart for horses. this is the first time i've seen your channel, and i just LOVE how you explain what all of your stuff is, what it does, and how you brush out your horse for newer riders who need a little guidance. so sweet
One tip for when a horse is peeing. When you stand up in the saddle it’s still putting pressure on the horse by your weight in the stirrups. So when your horse is peeing you can just sit up and don’t put so much weight in the stirrups. What I do is I take my feet out of the stirrups and lean forward that helps distribute your weight. Not hating, just giving a simple suggestion. Also I love you so much!😊❤️

I learned my lesson when I cantered for the first time to wear gloves... my hands hurt! It was worth it for the riding though!
Tips from an old cowboy.
Feed your barn cats in the tack room. Rodent problem over.
Use J&J baby powder, talcum, in your saddle. Roll it over and pour it in, the squeaking will be gone.

That preserve is a great place to ride. It is so pretty, kinda reminds me of the trails that were behind the stables where I boarded my horse. I just realized I should have said that preserve looks like a great place to ride because I've never ridden there myself.

Crazyequine Redhead I don't think she ever said what preserve it was where she was riding.
The trails where I rode were behind the pasture at Valley Mount Ranch in Fenton Mo. and that was back in the late 70s and early 80s. Someone told me that you can't ride your horses in there because it is a Boy Scout Reservation. You might look on line, some state parks have riding trails. I hope you find a good place to trail ride.

Cougar track? Big cat? We have mountain lions, bobcats. Orange County, California trails early in the morn cool but Be safe wear a helmet, all horses spook. Best turtle dream rescue ever!

Western saddles have the horn advantage with doing up the gerth, on a dressage / jumping it’s so annoying when the flap flops back onto your face😂

I love horses so much when I saw your vids I fell in love horses are my fav animals.
Love this! I just got a hose for Christmas that I already had experience with and I loved her, I had a meltdown when I figured out she was mine! We have never gone on a trail ride before because she has had a pretty bad past so she gets scared of everything... but I’m hoping in the summer I will be able to ride her on the trails. Love from Champagne (my horse) and I! ❤️

Your horse loves and pays attention to you.
You can teach him voice commands (whoa) and you will not need to touch the reins.
He goes off voice commands too! Mostly leg cues though :)

Story time: I HAVE HORSE FEVER AND I DONT RIDE ANYMORE! I’m kinda bummed, but I started lessons at this place that said they did western, which I want to do trail, barrel racing, pleasure, etc. when I got there it was my first time on a horse besides western trails, which I loved, and I knew I wanted to ride western. They had me grab a western saddle but it didn’t have a breast collar, and all the additional thing western saddles have, it was just an English saddle with the horn and back of a western saddle. We started trotting at one point, and they didn’t even let me hold on to the horn, hold the reins western style, and didn’t let me do sitting trot. I had to do everything English style, even practicing dressage. I did lessons for a few more months, sort of dreading it, as they had me use a English saddle instead, and I rode full English. Long story short, I did not enjoy it and have not ridden since spring 2021, and have not gone on any trails or such, and the closest western facility is way to far. I miss riding tbh.😢
Edit - and no, they did *NOT* have any *actual* western gear/saddles/horse/classes and basically tricked me into paying for something I did not enjoy but felt like I had to do it, since I loved the horses not the lesson or style. Nothing against English riding, but it is not my cup of tea.

Awesome vid ❤ isn't it so funny how different countries and disciplines have different things that are "normal".... In Aus you would never saddle up before floating (you call this trailering) but I note it's a thing with western type disciplines in the US 😁. The location looks amazing - I am super lucky to have a few KM's of trails right out my front gate that runs through reserves and between people's properties 😁 but we can also float to nearby forests ❤
I know!! I soo love that about diversity, it’s like everyone has their own style it’s awesome. But! We don’t always saddle up before trailering, if we are trailering far I won’t saddle them (this preserve is literally 5 min from my house lol) or if we are trailering in someone’s smaller trailer. Our trailer is pretty spacious for them ☺️❤️
I also love that y’all call trailering floating! I have never heard it refereed to as that. So cool

Love your videos!!! Tip: Always where a helmet whenever you’re riding horses, the reasoning for that is, because if your horse spooked and you fell off you would have a 89.37% of dying if your head hit the ground.

wow, what a wonderful video. By the way well done on the tutorial on how to properly put the saddlebag on the horse and properly secure it without making your beautiful horse uncomfortable. I have not gone horseback riding since 1999-2000 in Park City, Utah. It's a win win for you and your horse. I can't even imagine what the bond is like between you and your horse. In my opinion owning and riding a horse is the connection to the 4 elements of the earth. Spiritual indeed.

I just saw this video. You have an awesome horse BUT Just make sure you tell people that SOME horses cannot take the tightening of the girth ALL AT ONCE. Some horses are Girthy Sweetie! Like my horse, you had to tighten in increments! Tighten a little, then walk him a bit, then tighten, then walk It hurts some horses if you do it all at once. So just FYI Sweetie! Love your You Tube. And all your babies!!!!

I do horse camp every summer! It's so fun I've been here for 2 years. My first year i got a pony or a small horse, I forgot, anyway but her name was Mia and she was a great girl. Last year I, funny story, got switched 2 times. First I got an old, small horse named Dandy, I was okay with him but then before I could even ride him me and someone else got told to switch horses so I got... Ringo... i remember last year I thought he was pretty mean and such a drama king. I was pretty scared of him because he got angry really easily and I'm not that experienced with horses so I thought if I did one thing wrong that he'll bite me or stamp. BUT the next day, I got switched again! I got a buetifl halflinger horse with the fluffyest forelocks you have ever seen! His name was Addan and he was the sweetest, best, goodest boi ever! He was so nice and sweet but was SO STUBBORN. I love him anyway though. 😄 And if anyone has some tips for getting on a horse's good side, it like to know!
