As someone who’s played the violin for over 10 years, that sounds like what happens if you use the top of the bow, on the back of the instrument.
So the wood part of the bow sliding on the back? Seems accurate

As a music producer first and foremost I love that thing. It's great for experimenting with and getting weird sounds for stringed instruments, if you're hoping it sounds like it claims it does then you'll be disappointed but if you look at it from another point of view and completely ignore it's false claims you'll start to view it as useful in abstract ways

Take Brian May, my guitar hero, for example. He plays using a six pence coin.
Fun fact: A dime, which is what I use since I live in the U.S., is nearly the same size as a six pence coin (I wear a shave down one, shaped as a pick, around my neck as a pendant).

It's an emergency string cutting saw. If you ever desperately need to break out of a prison made out of guitar strings you'd be dumb not to have one.
I have basically only used one type of pick since I started 26 yeats ago, a red Sharkfin. My dad used them in his day and i just dont feel comfortable with anything else. I occasionally use a Dunlop maxgrip .73 and .88 for certain solos or heavier riffs but i usually stick to the red Sharkfin.
Blue Sharkfins are too thick and ive snapped around 10-15 white Sharkfins on stage over the years so i dont use them anymore. Red is my fav, nylon and hardly wear. Ive had the same pick since i was a kid 😂

@@andybabandy47 a piano is a piano. a midi controller is a keyboard, drum pad, etc that triggers software by means of a digital
Signal. He’s using a midi controller to play a violin sound via software. A midi controller does not produce sound nor is it a piano. A piano is an actual mechanical instrument. Keys do not mean piano. Lastly audio effects have nothing to do with what is happening here. Audio effects are things such as reverb, flangers, bitcrushing etc etc. Again it’s a midi keyboard triggering a violin patch via software (software being synthesizers, samplers, soundfont players, and so on.
