Really funny to see. Back in my Bundeswehr days I used to work on the turret part of the Leopard as a weapon mechanic. Done some rides and this beast just drives like a car. Pretty easy but the real fun part is when you ride it just with the periscope viewers. ;)
Helmets girls! It's all metal, and a bumpy road means a good head knock when you last expect it! Love to watch Alex out having fun anytime, so keep up the new vids each week.!!
I'm former Armored Cav & a Cold War Vet. I went to Basic at Knox for M1 Abrams, even drove 113's, M60's, and M1A1's. Pretty sure I know how to drive a tank. Even drifted an M1 in Germany and saved one from going off a tank trail into a ravine. Love to drive one again though.
I need a tank for the American collapse. I just realized I have this tank model as a remote controlled Radio shack tank from the 80's although it's broken down a bit.
I drove the very same Tank for years. Did they show you the cruise control? Lol we would wedge our foot under the Epicope holder/bracket. Unfortunately it only had one setting . Wide open and when one of our drivers got knocked out hitting a bump the tank travelled for about 1/2 mile before the crew could wake up the driver, and not a moment to soon. Open country lucky but a dangerous ravine was coming up fast . Good times lol
Alex to turn a MBT you Jam your foot in the brake of the Track you want to go and give the right track the gas and you will go the direction you desire and do the opposite to go the other direction, you could learn of a Caterpillar tracked vehicle.
I was in Tanks 19K ! I was Driver the Gunner moved up to my own Tank Crew ! I envy you getting to drive that Leppard Tank ! But you love the Abrams Tank !
I had the chance to buy ether a T-55B or an T-72A for around $80.000.00 back in 2011 but they were both in Czechoslovakia and neither of them were demilitarised so it would have been a pain to get them in to the US both shipping costs and paperwork and for the same price (total cost) I could have bought a Walker Bulldog in the US without the hassle of the paperwork somewhere above $350.000.00 back then. P.S. I got a D12 CAT instead and I have not regretted since.
We would “prime the engine “ by pulling the throttle linkage back so the motor won’t start for about five seconds. Than let go and it starts . I am not sure if other users of the Leopards one would do that. ( I served on the Leopard one for 20 years )
If tank is locked 🔐 key ( special 🔧) is usual near door on top ( or commander spot) ,and be shure that 🔋 are in side before you try to go for joy ride 😀. When I was in regular tank brigade we use to joy ride with old russian models ( T34,T 55,even T84)
when you got in the tank with shorts on i was like this could be bad because tanks have a lot of sharp parts an they like to bite people.. i was like i hope Alex dose not get bit by the tank... this was a good video
Pedals on either side like a big assed riding mower. Possiblity of running over objects smaller than said ride. IE, bikes, hedges, neighbors Volkswagen Porshay. Damn.
As a 19 Kilo (US Army M1 (Abrams MBT) Armor Crewmember, 2003-2007), I cringed a little when she didn't say, "clear to the rear", when starting the tank. Plus, I would never trust a tank inexperienced person in the turret, while I was in the driver's position, with the seat up, head out the hatch... or even with the main gun anywhere but over the back. But, that's just me. She did just fine though. Target acquired. Load sabot. Up! Fire! On the way! Target destroyed! Keep Up The Fire!! Hooah!!
The last time I drove a tank, an M60 Abrams, was when I was purging the hydraulic system on the gun way back when. Our captain was going out with us and he was only letting us drive it for about 15 min. He would let the driver know when to go back in by reaching down from his lookout position on top and kicking him in the back. Being very young at the time I reasoned if I went really fast over rough terrain, he wouldn't be able to let himself down enough to kick me. I flew around all over the place. Up and down, off banks (no one told me you could flip a tank), and after about 30 min I finally felt a kick and headed back. They had to extract our Captain from the tank. I guess he was flipping around like a rag doll up in the lookout position. He spent the next week on bed rest. Believe it or not, we were still friends when he came back to work. Probably because I gave him the first 5.62 ammo to fire our first M16s. They had sent our unit M16s but no ammo.
Alex you amazing all action & so funny as well you & Heather are a blast I was watching you on Twitch last night but it was so nice to see you again but it was so late for me in Time difference 🇺🇸 🌎 🇬🇧 ended up falling asleep after a hour or more rewatch today though...🤣😂 love your tank driving so cool see ya!! next time much love & respect..🙏🏻 💖 say hi to Heather.!! 💕
Seeing the leopard 1a5 makes me want to play war thunder now, I have the a1a1 but not the 1a5, it's gonna have to wait after I finish researching the TAM
👍funchit, glad I don't have a balding nugget at 42, my nuggets now that's a TMI to many ears against the cloud😄I don't have a license for a Abrams anymore but I do remember the experience of kicking up dust while trying to look through a little window!
Definitely need more of this.... or the guys at drive tanks could start a channel with videos of customers driving around.... face hurts from smiling watching this 😅👍 also fun fact I have 3 acres and I dream of a tank in the old barn out back..... 🤷🏻♂️😂
I think my Uber driving is drunk? if you didn't noticing your Uber driver has a tank, They may not be the only one drunk, But still love ya both Alex and Heather who's gonna be the vice president?

Why are there no track pads on the tracks?
Can you really wreck a tank? 😆
@@drgonzo305 Surprisingly, yes but to the point of being a total right off, now that takes talent 😁
@@RCD566 I don't know about that, I thought tanks were the ones that wrecked everything else lol
Thanks for not killing me... yet.
When do you get a turn at driving the tank Heather?
XD
It’s probably good that ur alive
Eeeeeeeeeee
key word ¨yet¨
My dad was a tank tank driver during the Vietnam war. M60 main battle tank, and that was his favorite job.
I wasn't in 'Nam but I was an M60 mechanic/operator. Hats off to your dad! Loved my Mamma 60s.

Holy Hand Grenades it's you,
Thank you, Alex Zedra for the tank vid. I don't know if there are any Panzer VI Tiger tanks in the US, but it would be fun to watch that beast roll.
Alex zedra: *Hello guys how are you doing and today we will learn how to use nuclear missile*

1991-1995 I drove an M1A1 Abrams. That thing was pretty fun!...most of the time.
Got to love it Alex, cleans of her shoe before she climbs into the beat up dirty old tank.
The last time I was in a Leopard I got kicked out of the zoo'

The last time in a Leo 1 for me was in tank driving school. ;) Then i got a GEPARD to drive. Great machine!

Thanks Alex, fun watch. Thank you also for keeping Heather alive.
I appreciate that too lol
Scorpions are real little hotrods: a lightly modified Scorpion held the world tank speed record for years.
Alex: tryna avoid any awkward butt shots
Me, a simp for alex: but that's exactly what I wanna see 😂
Good luck with life

A friend of mine was a driver on Leopard 2. He drove over his company commander's car (VW Polo) - by accident. To quote him: "It made a soft bump."

Back in 1999 i was a gunner on Leo1A5 in Norway. Such a rush every time i pulled the trigger :)
As a military buff and history fan would give anything to drive a tank and own one to drive all day every day
Thanks now I know how to start a tank for the next time I'm in an army base.
yoo same i got in a tank i dant know but now i can start it
Not all tanks have the same start up process.

I went here for the 4th of July and it was EPIC
Shout-out to the tank operator, seems super knowledgeable
He is just excited he is not dealing with some old rich dude for a change . not often does a guy get to seat a bum than nice into a tank seat.
You know Alex is a true American when she buys a tank.
