Awesome manouvre! I have to say a massive thanks for your tips on reversing. One year after passing my test I normally do night trunking to RDCs etc but today I had my first Class 1 multidrop run which was 14 drops around Team Valley in Gateshead plus 3 in Newcastle, all were very tight but I made it without stress thanks to your tips such as "I'll go see someone" before committing yourself to a manouvre. You may see a Trucker Murdock channel coming later this year
I felt the same when I bought my first house a few years ago. There’s nothing like the feeling when you’re moved in, stressful process but it’ll be worth it in the end mate
Hey Luke, keep doing what you are doing mate, I really enjoy your videos and even though I am not a hgv driver it really is an eye opener and makes me respect what you guys and ladies do!
That lady was amazing, and you Luke, great handling on an overall hard situation, only thing missing was recruiting the lady to film your reverse, lol, that would have been epic, kudos to her indeed, and to you too.
Well done Luke. If anyone could do it you could. They say that buying a house is probably the most stressful thing you’ll ever do. So the best of luck, stay cool it’ll be alright in the end. All the best. Mick.
@TheWidowMaker40 - maybe go for a regular driving job, like 3.5 ton delivery or 7.5 ton. Get that road experience under your belt and maybe use that experience to land a class 1 job in the future, maybe even at the company you’d already be with?
Kudos to the lady at the garden centre for helping out . Might have been worth putting the cones they had out in the road whilst you did a lap . ( red car comes to mind ) . Got in and out no damage . that's what I call a result.😁
Its a bit of a shock to the system when you have a house of your own for the first time. I feel for you - but mate, there's nothing more satisfying than having something you can call your own - and you've work really hard for this new life as a home owner - so all good on you buddy - wishing you all the best for you and the ladies for the future in your new home.
Another great vid Luke. Wow…. Just arriving outside the Garden Centre and seeing the parked vehicles would have spooked me and brought back some memories of similar deliveries throughout my 30 years. Brilliant blind side to exit ..and in 1 hit. Enjoy the weekend and Thank you
That’s a big price tag Luke I’m not surprised the Mortgage is slightly intimidating, I imagine it’s a wonderful house. Have you ever thought of purchasing land and building a house over time on it ? I like the idea of owning the ground it’s built on.
Mate congratulations on your first home purchase! It is a big move but sooooo worth it and it's yours, all the hard work is paying off man. Love the vids and stay safe out there.
Cracking video again mate, a bit Snug but Luke did it with ease!! Enjoy your new home, nothing like owning your home, always a good investment long term, money wise and family wise! Keep up the good work and keep safe!👍 😀🚛
Hi Luke, enjoying your video. The good thing with buying your own house is that when you retire and, hopefully, you've paid off your mortgage, that's it. No rental fees to pay, no nothing. Also, you can keep the house for, say, 2 years, let it go up in value, then downsize. Sell your house for example, £650,000, and downsize to another property for £500,000 (what you've just paid), and you have £150,000 to play with. Property can give you better rates than interest in a savings account. When you came out of the place, and the car just cut in front of you, its just an Audi driver. Says it all really. Anyway, the paintings on the side of the houses, they do that a lot in France. In fact, they're works of art basically. One thing I love, is upsetting the school runs. "Get in their baby"🤣🤣🤣
Hi Luke , I know this area well , I live not far from there , you need very well with the manoeuvre mate, that is a very narrow road . Some driving skills there .
i know St Margarets lane very well and somtimes it can be tight in the sprinters i drive for work you did an awsome job. Also its not normally as busy with parked cars by the theatre.
Luke, I was terrified when I took my 1st morgtage out in my late 30s. I thought I would be living off beans on toast for years. 20 yr mortgage was paid off in 15yrs! You have no control over rent prices, and you never feel any pernanence. You will be glad the 1st day you move in, with the thought 'I can do what the hell I like with this home regards improvements etc' which if I remember, you will need to do for your brother. Best wishes!
In a few years time you will be glad you bought your house, it might be a struggle now but you will look back and be glad you did. When we bought our first business we were paying 20 % interest, we had a few sleepless nights, at times.
Morgage at first is a struggle but after a while it does get more easy. Ive paid mine off no morgage anymore. My only sibling my brother who doesnt talk to me lives in swindon too. West dorset here on jerrassic coast 4 me.
If you can't get it in, take it back. Was a remark given to me whilst delivering long lengths of steel to a fabrication company in Halesowen once. So after getting it in with most of the lengths, including the centres still being outside, he then instructed me to get up top and use the slings to tie the steel to the hook on the overhead (would be touching my head) gantry crane. Trying to work out what he intended to do with most of the steel still outside I asked then what. He said, "Then I dri e forward so that the crane will drag the lengths off the headboard gantry and the steel will fall off the back of the trailer. So I said, "I reckon your first idea was best" and grabbing the notes jumped into the cab and, took it back to the suppliers. End of story, with the photo's, the customer got a grilling to the safe unloading and receiving of steel and products from the company I was working for and they wished each other well. Kind of.
Just under half a million pound.. I’d expect my own forest for that much 🤣🤣🤣 in all seriousness good luck with the move and keep up the great vlogs 👍🏻👍🏻
You went past my house Cheltenham when you came off the motorway and went the alddise shops and you was on about the lay by for a rest. I live down on the right
The garden cntr should place cones outside opposite the entrance on the days they get big deliveries, also why didn’t you get them to offload you from the roadside with there Faulklift truck.
They were designed for horse drawn vehicles and drovers to take their cattle and sheep and livestock to market. They were all narrow because you don't want to keep chasing after the livestock if they strayed , you want them tightly packed with only one way to run. Most freight went by canal which was as busy as the motorways but of course much slower and more economic for over 60 years before motorised vehicles.
This bloke is not a professional, he's a wimp,, have you ever seen him rope and sheet a load yet now that is skill and hard work, this guy is fat because he is only a cheuffeur, no hard work needed. Like all the young drivers today needs a sat nav to find his way around the UK.
Roping and sheeting is hard? 😂 give over. You know, it’s people like you in this industry that give drivers a bad name. Always picking on someone who’s been driving less. Always shouting at the top of your lungs “look at me! I can rope and sheet! I’m a real driver” Honestly! You sound utterly ridiculous. If I had to rope and sheet, I’d be able to do it just fine. It isn’t rocket science is it. If you really think it is then well… that’s on you 😂 give us both a load of pallets stacked 20 high on a flatbed. Give us bulkbags with netting across it all, and strapped up. Give us a low loader and chain up machinery. let’s see who can secure the load the quickest. I’ll even make a video out of it. You up for it? Send me an email lukecinahgv@hotmail.com “Old Stan Vs Young Luke” Let’s do it.
Hi Luke. Are you, Scott, Kev, Jenko and Jay able to come to the Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard Charity truck Convoy which is happening on Saturday the 10th of June?
I love watching your videos always very enjoyable. (No hate here Luke) . Just a genuine question. As part of my role I had at a previous employer I was in charge of about 50 vehicles making sure all where booked in with the mechanic serviced regularly and had to carry out a minimum of 10 where audited each week for. All kit tyre checks and condition ie clean and presentable does your boss not insist the trucks are cleaned at least once a week? Our drivers could pay to wash them and bring receipts to be reimbursed or wash in the yard
Hi my advice .I just walked in to one of the big. Trucking company’s and asked for work . They said we need experienced drivers . I answered if no one takes me on I’ll never get any . I started to walk away and a guy called me back .Started on a small truck and eventually ended up on car carriers . Just do it & be prepared to start at the bottom . Or speak to other drivers you run into . You will make it . Greetings from Canada trucker AL retired . 🇨🇦👍🇬🇧
Jesus Luke, you can get 10+ acres and a fully detached 6 bed house with views of the mountains or ocean up here for £500k. Prices are crazy in some locations, I wouldn't mind living in Cornwall, but I doubt 500k gets you a 2 bed flat down there lol
@@lukecinahgv yep sorry for about that shame you couldn't just pull across the gate so it didn't have to go on the road, great video tho Luke great to see the other side of easy delivery
Luke, what do you think about the Gov't idea of HGVs being longer by I think 2.5 metres? You just broke rule 201 of the highway code when you reversed out of the nursery. Rule 201 states "Do not reverse from a side road or drive into a main road" (The car park of the nursery is a side road/drive) with no exceptions for HGVs. If you knew had to reverse out then on the grounds of safety you should not do the delivery.
Awesome manouvre! I have to say a massive thanks for your tips on reversing. Think that nursery could do with investing in some cones "space needed for HGV today" 😄
Hats off mate... That was a challenge !!!
Hey Luke, keep doing what you are doing mate, I really enjoy your videos and even though I am not a hgv driver it really is an eye opener and makes me respect what you guys and ladies do!

Great effort Luke, she was a trooper. As a new pass driver i'm learning so much from your video's. its nigh on impossible getting my first job.😄👍
@TheWidowMaker40 - maybe go for a regular driving job, like 3.5 ton delivery or 7.5 ton. Get that road experience under your belt and maybe use that experience to land a class 1 job in the future, maybe even at the company you’d already be with?

Thankyou mate. Genuinely brought a tear to my eye. I do work hard. Thankyou. I really appreciate that comment.
46:00 bless her. Seems like she had a lot of time to help you out in that situation where most couldn't give a shit.
Once you moved in and got the boxes unloaded, find the kettle first. Then relax before the wife say we are going to some decorations !.

Yes, level that tree trunk flat to the ground...and reduce inwards that blue fencing.

Great video again luke keep trucking and stay safe mate
Good luck Luke taking on a mortgage at this time with interest rates so high another great video as always 👍
You should do more videos! 💪💪💪💪
I dont get your road system in UK. So narrow roads and then allowing parking everywhere

used to do deliveries & collections in that part of cheltenham everyday , Hydro has had about 3 or 4 different names
Respect for that awful blindside out of the garden centre. I probably would have persisted with the reverse in 😂
Aston Martin, next to Lidl !!!
Close to half a million.... you better set up another 10 RUclips channels Luke 😂😂😂😂
DO few those tight ones NOT in arctic . BUT 4 wheel 18ton/ 26 ton 6 wheel . & 59 now only do TRUNCKING in arctics ATB .
You certainly have a lot to put up with. You handled it like the true professional you are.

Unload out on the road ?
Plausible. But unfortunately there wasn’t enough room, secondly, forklifts have to be Insured and with number plates to unload on the road
