Hmmm...for me as a Dutch speaker, that Scanian sounds like Danish...guttural, throaty sounds, parts of words that seem to be 'swallowed' or skipped over entirely..
Well Skåne (Scanian) was Danish for a long time... and I think they do understand each other better then most swedes... I don't mean that swedes don't understand "scanian" but they understand danish better then most swedes and danish people do understand scanian better then most other swedish dialects...
The Dialect of Scanian is old as fuck, but yeah, it's similar to Danish because when Scanian and Danish split in the 400s or so, Northern Scanian became Norwegian and Eastern Scanian became Gutnic and Swedish.
It's why it is similar to both Swedish and Danish. Although the closest linguistical relative is Stavanger/Tröndelag dialects.
And you understand or just seems like Danish?
Kamelåså...
Scanian people understand us better than most swedes....at least those I've home across. But i find scanian sometimes can be harder to understand that Swedish from further up north. Scanian sounds most similar to the danish dialect from Bornholm. The same dialect in two different, but very similiar languages.
Haha, I can relate. When I had just moved down to study in Lund some guys where fixing the door in the basement and I walked passed them a few times while doing my laundry. I'm curious about languages so when I heard them talking I was like "what in gods name is that language that they are talking? It sure isn't swedish. What is it, what is it? It sound hilarious." By the third time I listened to them I suddenly recognized a swedish word and that unlocked the whole thing for me and suddenly I could hear that they were speaking swedish. They were just speaking in a very very heavy accent from Malmö. XD
I think swedes from other regions in Sweden can have a problem understanding the skåne dialect because the melody is very different from other swedish dialects. How you pronounce the vowels is also very different.
Personally I have a tendency to pick up the accent where I live, but that never happened with skånska, it's just too different.
But I love skånska, it feels homy to me :) And it has one of the best words in swedish - mög. Should be imported into all the other dialects! :D
Omg, if swedes can't understand each other... it means I have zero chances. Very depressing video for us, lerners :D
We understand most of this quite well. That guy has some kind of problem.
Mona Sabbat, fear not. I believe he is an exception. I don't speak svånska & understood her fine. sometimes language is thinking outside of the box which he wasn't
I was in Skåne 3 months ago and learned Swedish for some months (not too much). I understood quite a lot what they said.
I'm also crying. You don't know how much.
This is the extremes with the oldest words that nobody uses anymore mostly
Hahaha så rolig!!!
i norrland är roligt *Toschit*
Do Swedish vs West Norwegian. preferrably a dialect from Hordaland (excluding Bergensk)
I come from the northest part of sweden and our swedish is completely different from skånska, i see alot of comments are saying ”Its so easy how can he not understand it” It really isnt easy, at least not for me, i can understand norweigan easier than skånska.
Helt sjukt att han inte förstår!!
Vallentin Lövström Wadell Inte alla är från Skåne..
Hanna Österlund såklart, men förstår inte hur det kan vara så svårt...
Vallentin Lövström Wadell Sant I guess
Nej det är det inte alls. Den där typen, brukar bara kunna förstå vad som sägs i "Stooockhåålm" . Hahaha
Detta är en lista på orden jag antingen inte förstår eller missförstår:
Ballen
Tossig
Räligt
Mög
Flabben
Hotta
Hossor
Rullebörn
Det här var jätteroligt!
Not many people know this but the Swedish and norwegian languages use a pitch accent, just like the chinese is famous for doing. I think its common knowledge that you can pronounce something just a tad bit wrong in standard chinese and korean for eg. and end up insulting a chinese person in the process. Not many know that the swedish and norwegian languages have the same function as chinese in that regard.
I think thats simply because sweden is a european country who has more cultural and direct interactions wiht other european countries.
But why is it that basically all pitch accent countries insist on taking of our shoes before entering a house? lol its a thing in scandinavia too.
What is wrong with that guy? Most of this was pretty easy to understand, even for a "Stockholmer" like me.
Kan vara för att du kunde läsa vad hon sa, när jag blundade så jag bara hörde, så var det mycket svårare att höra vad hon sa
Ja, jeg er fra sørlandet i norge, og jeg skjønte ikke en ting :'D
Dessa ord förstod jag ej, förstod du dem?
Ballen
Tossig
Räligt
Mög
Flabben
Hotta
Hossor
Rullebörn
@@AndreaS-sk7pj Man kan fortfarande höra tydliga bokstäver och ord som ditt och L...
Her accent sounds so much stronger than what I listened to when I was in Malmö. I could notice the difference from the Stockholm accent of course, but I could perfectly understand the people there and I can barely understand a word of what this girl says. I think she exagerated on the actual skånska accent
Its because nowdays we speak Swedish with scanian accent but she actually talks more correct scanian
Hi, Im writing this 5 years after the fact - further South of Malmö and Lund, out in the country the people speak as she does. It isnt that raw in the cities
In Skånska do they pronounce r in the throat
Pepsi Max v.w yes
It's a like a danish swedish lol
125- 125 yes
Very funny, It's strange being from the same country and having different ways of speaking. Same for Ohio, US north is very different from the south.
Not really, in your case it's merely 2 different accents. Scanian has a completely different vocabulary for many phrases that don't exist in standard swedish, along with a different pronunciation
Yeah it's more like Dutch and Frisian. At least I think so, not a Swede so can't understand either lmao
Well I am a swede from Stockholm and the sentences were hard. But normal conversation works with Scanian.
+Orangethunder it's not just different accents in the US though. I'm from southern Ohio (which is the dividing line between "the north"
and "the south"), and when I met distant relatives from only about two hours south, some were a bit difficult for me to understand due to accent yes, but also different vocabulary and phrases. But this video also exaggerates the differences I think- my boyfriend is from skåne and when we lived in göteborg, it wasn't as if people couldn't understand him or something, although they would sometimes ask if he's skånsk.
I imagine it a little like the difference between Standart German and suisse German where you can generally understand each other but pronunciation, sayings and vocabulary and sometimes even syntax differ
I had no clue Skånska was so different. I knew there were a few different words, but never realized there were so many. And I have never seen it written. When I was over in Sweden, we had a guy from up around Stockholm and another guy from Ystad staying with us. The northern guy could not understand the guy from Ystad. FYI, Ystad is about as southern Sweden as you can get.
I really need to learn how to speak and understand Skånska because this is the part of Sweden my grandfather came from.
I think the biggest difference is not the words but how they pronounce stuff. Btw, I've been to Ystad and more places in Österlen, as long as they don't have a thick accent it's possible to understand them
2:59 vad säger han? är det samma fråga båda gånger?
Skåne ❤️
Is the southern dialect different from swedish? Words I thought I recognized aren't the same(is become e? instead of ar) (forgive my keyboard)
Not really but we have some different words that are typically for Skåne just like other dialects in Sweden have some words that other parts of the country have never heard of. Btw the Swedish girl kind of exaggerated the production, I live in Skåne and no one i know speaks like that.
Trodde du var från Blekinge. Från norra Götaland som jag är så skulle jag nog kunna uttala allt någorlunda väl, men visste inte vad hossor (och er version av ballen) betydde. (och oklart om jag skulle förstått hotta enskild, men i sitt sammanhang så)
Som en smålänning så är detta helt underbart att lyssna på! :D :D
The woman sounds like Danish with 839383 potatoes in the mouth like *eghvl eghvl eghvl*
Learning Swedish would be the same thing as not knowing Swedish at all, you will use advanced hand movements one way or another 😂
Jeg elsker at I lige giver ham et dansk "mange tak" med på vejen..
When I hear that, all I can think of is this clip: ruclips.net/video/ri233-4Yeg4/видео.html
Hahahahha im dying this video is so funny! im from central sweden though cant understand southern swedish so good sometimes
Är han från Stockholmstrakten?
Can we all take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous Felicia is?
Men seriöst så svårt är det inte
omg! I watch Cecilia's videos, and I never got her even though I do speak some swedish so I thought it was so strange. This explains why :D :D hahah
Helt roligt
What's the actual trick here? Did she use completely different words, or pronounced the Swedish words otherwise than usual?
Gabor Szabo she spoke a diffrent accent like indian english from american english
her accent was a lot stronger than I usually hear here in skåne, I think they try to make these difficult for effect/fun.
baxterandcotton That makes sense. By the look of the guy I thought he heard words of a non-swedish language :)
I am from Skåne and even i thought it sounded werid sometimes lol.
Some words were completely different, like the word for wheelbarrow ("rullebör" in Scanian, "skottkärra" in Standard Swedish) or socks ("hossor" vs "strumpor/sockor") but some are just pronounced different, like "vida kagor"... oh wait... I mean "veida kaogor" :D instead of "vita kakor" ("white cookies"). However 95-98% of the time Scanian is just regular Swedish words pronounced with a more or less heavily diphtongized accent, the pure dialect is fading more and more.
The girl speaks more with a Danish accent, whereas the swedes (I hear usually) has more of a slower accent, but regardless where he is from the guy definitely was not picking up as fast as he should?... like as if they made a perfectly fitted stereotype
typiskt stockholmare
so funny x)
Is this like a Dialect or really like a other language?
It depend son your perception, clearly, ha ha
Jag ålskar Skåne och du Martin?
southern swedish vs southern italian please
Habe ich da gerade ein nämlich gehört?
Haha at the video. Skånsk sounds very Danish with tone. When in doubt just say kamelåså
Seriously, I am from Iceland. I have never studied Swedish. I have spent a total of something like 6 weeks in Sweden my whole life ... and I understood the lady from Skane pretty well and I can easily repeat her sentences. I have spent a similar amount of time Denmark... a bit less... something like 3 weeks (but, Danish was taught as a second language after Icelandic when I was growing up... I am 44 years old... If I was just 5 years younger, English would have been taught as a second language to me) I don't understand what's the guys problem. Every single word she used is at its root a Nordic word.
Det låter som att han försöker prata danska😂
I'd love to see Swedish vs Elfdalian or Swedish vs Sápmi.
Saami is not related to Swedish, not even distantly.
@@dan74695 I know that any of the Saami variants are related to Swedish, however he does language challenges with a large variety of people who speak many different languages, related or not to Swedish.
Hussor! Inte håssor.
So they are different languages?
Nah. He's just stupid.
Skanska sounds a bit like danish. I gather you folks were part of Denmark at one point, inte sant?
Yes, and the fact that we are geographically close.
Jag har lärt mig svenska men I prefer speak english with Skånskar
Sadra Bakhshi not any bad idea, speaking English, you won’t risk that you don’t understand them.
Ok
Im from the north and i think south is way diffrent
Helt sinnes haha
I'm still waiting Swedish vs Catalan 😅
I think, every language has a few kind of dialects that hard to understand :D
Hon uttalade hossor fel? Eller säger man olika i olika delar av Skåne?
Det kan nog skilja en hel del i olika delar av Skåne. Jag hade uttalat det mer som hussor, är från Malmö.
@@ThePaleoCon I Helsingborg säger man håsor! Haha
@@hanskaningen6704 Haha, kan tänka mig det. Men vi gillar er ändå! :P
@@ThePaleoCon Haha desamma :)
Stackars Pojkendrömmer. :´D Jag skulle inte heller förstå Skånska, än mindre kunna uttala det.
It might be close to Danish in some ways. But danes also don't understand it.
Något handikapp har han!!
😂😂 Chippar efter andan!
Skånska has the letter é? 😂
Mikael❤
åla hue låter som ola hyvää
Wow jag är finlandssvensk och fick alla rätt😂
My mum used to scold me for using 'æde' (past: 'åd'). That's something only animals do. In Danish, we say 'spise'.
Maybe you should just give us skåne back already. ;)
@ger du du kan få Bornholm
Bort med dig danskjävel. Jag är skåning och vill inte ha danskar här.
The Skanska babe has my vote :)
Haha den danske delen i sluttet 😂
Goer skaansk vs dansk. Jeg forstaar godt dansk, med selv med fjernsyn fra Malmoe saa er det svaert at forstaa. Maaske nogle af de ord ogsaa har vaeret brugt i Danmark, men jeg kan bare ikke huske dem.
Jæg forstöðu Svænsk eller Nörsk ån där Dænsk!
She sounds kinda danish to me
"Man ha ju inga bokstäver i mun!!"
alles klar. ich lerne einfach norwegisch.
Är nordsvensken utvecklingsstörd?
Hah
I feel like the girl is behaving manlier than that guy....
And?
I want a Swedish boyfriend where can I find Swedish people in New York City ?! Or Jersey?!
Hur man pratar skånska:
1. skär av din tunga.
2. Prata svenska
3. Bli utvisad till skåne..
As a German, hearing and comparing both I think the Northern dialect sounds more like "drunk". The south sounds more clear like I imagine Swedish actually sounds like. But maybe it's just unfair making a judgement based on just 2 people speaking these accents.
KRAFTWERK2K6 the northern guy speaks weird cuz he’s gay
what? it's the other way around, the southern person speaks realyl unclaer to a swede lmao cuz the girl sound more danish than swedish
How is he so bad?! Lyssnar han ens eller?
Och varför kallas han "northen Swedish" när han låter som en Stockholmare? Stockholm är ju mer söder än norr...
Videon som bevisar att skånska är danska!! Man kan ju inte byta ut t och k mot d och g och fortfarande kalla det Svenska😂
Skånska låter väl fan mer danska än svenska xD
jag förstog inte ett piss
hossor. inte håssor..
Herregud va kass han va
Jag behöver en svenska vän för att hjälpa mig med svenska.
Northern, my ass.
my god it's not that hard!! 😒
Cowgirl
Smått pantad om ja ska va ärlig. Ta nån från skellefte snälla vi ä bra allmänbildade iaf.
I can imagine this boy's viking ancestors rolling in the grave, watching him talking and behaving like this.
va?
Förlåt men Mikael du kan inte skånska det lät inte bra. Hahaha
Scanian accent is SEXY. So earthy and real, my ex from Skåne drove me wild when she spoke it to me. Like when a lady has that perfect southern USA accent, that perfect twang, I’m literally putty in their hands.
Why use this drip in your test? He cannot take anything seriously. Waste of time. Find someone with the mental capacity over five years old.
Snälla sluta försök prata danska asså Skåningar försöker tror att de är danska MIn mamma og min pappa är danska
ツTurtle Jag tror ingen vill försöka vara en dansk!!
skånska är redig svenska
