I’m a fellow first year homeschooling mom. I have a 7 yo son, and I also have a 2 yo son so I totally understand the “homeschooling while trying to entertain a toddler bit” Entertaining him & getting housework done are my biggest obstacles. Our homeschool style is much like yours, a little bit of this & a little bit of that-with God & His Word as our main focus. Keep it up Mama!
Loved this Kendra!!! Motivating me to get my act together and figure out our rhythm. I have an almost 2 year old, 3 year old and a 5 year old and I agree, the hardest part is keeping the 2 year old entertained so I can focus on the oldest. Feeling like I need to get super organized!
Homeschooling year round is a lifesaver for us. It allows for the flexibility we need. I have a 7 and 6 yr old homeschooled, and a 4 and 3 yr old I have to entertain during the day. 🤪
Yes, we do year-round homeschooling too! It’s nice that we can just take smaller breaks here and there through the year instead of one huge break which kind of makes kids more likely to forget what they’ve been learning. As far as co-op my daughter started classical conversations in the fall and it’s been such a God send. We both love it so much! I encourage you to look into it ☺️
My twins will be turning 5 in May and I have already ordered the good and the beautiful curriculum awhile back and I am so excited to start this homeschool journey with them! Love these homeschool videos! They are super helpful 😊❤
5 years in, now with 2 kids. No going back! We do a traditional approach to the 3 Rs, since the basis of all future learning is built on them. All other subjects are passion-driven and typically unit studies and living books.
I’m reading Wild and Free right now and loving it! My first will be starting kindergarten this fall so I’m diving into all these books about homeschooling. I never thought I would be homeschooling but I feel so compelled to do it for so many reasons. Also This Homeschool House is my favorite to follow right now. She’s a mom of 3 who lives in New Zealand and she is darlinggggg. I can’t get enough of her channel.
Love what you’re doing with your kids! Do you let your kids watch tv? I have a 5 years old and I don’t homeschool but I am trying to limit his screen time but whenever I ask him to do reading or writing, he fights me on it. Does your kid ever just want to watch tv all day? Is there a way to better limit screen time? Thank you!
Yess...we have some days that we don't do hardly anything because of attitudes, lol. But I have a 4 year old, 2 year old and 9 month old, so I feel it comes with the territory. 😂 We've been doing preschool and start kindergarten in the fall, and I've already changed my mind about most of our fall 2022/2023 curriculum. We're more eclectic, too, and plan to homeschool year round.
Your homeschooling videos always leave me so inspired! I want to homeschool my kids but worry if I’m capable of teaching them and now I feel like I can do it. I’m halfway through Wild+Free and that has been a great read as well. Thank you for sharing your day and answering questions. It makes it feel less overwhelming for me!
they offer in school teaching, part time or just strictly homeschool. it allows you to get funded for curriculum and school supplies throughout the year which is great.
