James Drury was an American actor known for his work in film and television. He was born on April 18, 1934, in New York City and grew up in Oregon. Drury began his acting career in the 1950s and went on to appear in numerous TV shows and films, including the popular Western series, "The Virginian," which ran from 1962 to 1971. Throughout his career, Drury was known for his rugged good looks, deep voice, and strong screen presence. He passed away on April 6, 2020, at the age of 85.

Mr. Drury was a very brillant actor, amazing man, friend to so many. I love to watch anything that he is featured in. Love this man for quite some time. Maybe we can meet in another time. R.I.P. GOD BLESS!!!!

I remember James because he lived just one town north from us in oregon and he was a legend in the 60’s and 70’s🙌 He and my father were two of the most handsome men I ever knew and they were cut from the same mold of working hard and helping other and doing what’s right even if it wasn’t popular!

James Drury was a true cowboy and terrific actor.
James appeared in several Disney movies, including Pollyanna, before becoming The Virginian. His last five or more years before his death was very difficult. He was caregiver for his terminally ill wife and was financially hurting. It was so sad when he lost her and he did not last long after her loss. Very sad
