Well haven't gotten around to checking mine yet, but same issue. Trunk won't open. Original problem was it wouldnt latch and close, and now it won't open. Definitely going to have check this out now. Thanks for the information!
Thanks for your video. VW dealer service here in NJ is quoting me $515 + Tax (parts and labor) for trunk harness replacement on my 14 CC with backup cam @61000 miles. Does it sound within norm? And if I can also get your view, he says that car needs coolant flush ($200) + brake flush ($200). And the the rear brake pads and rotors are to be replaced ($515). I got the car new in Feb 15 and never had brake pads replaced so I suppose it is pads time. Plus I am having the usual 60k service. Oh and yes wheel alignment he says is $129. So in total I'm going to be hit around $2100! Not happy.
FAautobahn A if u can find somebody whos skilled at soldering wires together show them the video and they can do it but i also paid for a flush check other shops who work on Foreign cars they are also able to flush year car out maybe they do it cheaper my best advice to you is call different places and see if they will do it for a lower price brakes rotors etc. dealers tend to be more expensive it might be a little bit difficult to find people who work on foreign cars but they are out there
Vw are amazing cars stop saying crazy stuf.... yeah you had this problem but it was very easy fix. Other cars you go to dealer and spend 2000-3000 euros and they say i don’t know what the problem is :)
I have same problem, who cares if it's a great car but poorly designed in areas like this? Fixing engine issues and trying to figure it out is one thing, attempting to rewire or fix wiring is different. Those things shouldn't go wrong, or they should be issuing recalls. I don't mind working on my car but buying all the tools to try and figure this out is a pain in the ass and my VW that's worth maybe 4k isnt' worth the hassle, drives great but need rear lights to work and trunk to open right.
@@3mariusx buddy stop defending VW, they are trashy cars timing chains going out under 30k miles along with struts becoming too soft and oil burning is normal for VW. Rattling interiors is industry standard for VW. Light bulbs burning out is like adding windshield washer fluid. VW is the worst car company. Nothing like a Toyota, they are the most reliable cars. I have a 2011 VW CC and it's the worst car I have ever been in, last year I bough a 2009 Toyota Prius with 294,000 miles for $500 and it now has 307,000 miles, I still haven't changed the oil on it since I bought it, it has much colder AC than my VW and it drives much smoother than my VW did when new.
Michael Ebbs Michael Ebbs Michael Ebbs and i am assuming you live in usa :)) no mate toyotas have very poor desing and are very expensive at parts. All manufacturers have models that have minor problems and cc is known for problems. You cannot criticise a brand because you had a bad experience with a second hand one! Go buy a new one and then share your story..... in europe toyotas have some prices on the same level with mercedes more expensive than audi and you cannot compare audi with toyota that makes engine mounts from steel that rust and transfer heat directly to the bushing. Yes maybe toyota is worth in some us markets but tehnologically it is under the vag group period and it is logical because vag group stealed the research of many companies that they bought. Not only vw have issues. All brands do. Want an example on toyota? Toyota avensis 2008 - manual gearbox failure unde normal driving at 180k km.... engine mounts fail at every 40k km, climate control engines fail at 10k km with enormous repair cost due to dashboard teardown.... and many more. You like toyota and it is cheap in your area fine go buy toyota but do not share false information based on your preferences
Thanks to you I fixed mine, much appreciated 👍 I used wago 221 connectors and 8awg wire to replace the 6 damaged wires in my 2015 CC. Subscribed!
thanks for your video! when you had this issue, did you see the trunk-opened-warning sign as well?
Well haven't gotten around to checking mine yet, but same issue. Trunk won't open. Original problem was it wouldnt latch and close, and now it won't open. Definitely going to have check this out now. Thanks for the information!
Going through that now with the trunk
I cut out about 6 inches of each wire soldered and taped with electrical tape and it worked perfectly no fuses were popped
I solve my car problem thanks to this video

Vw are decent cars!! If you want a true reliable car you get a japanese car! Toyota, Mitsubishi , Honda, subaru or Mazda!!!
@@mitsuevo8mr yes, if you want a rusty car go get those
