Thanks for the video! I just ordered mine. Per our prior discussions, I think I mentioned I was 57, I have arthritis that I think has caused some rib cage damage, I'm hoping this will help my breathing and my clarinet playing. I might have solved 2 my problems problems. Thanks!
Only having one functioning lung reduces my long passage ability so have purchased something like this to expand my lung performance Think this is a great tool for all clarinetist!
I studied with Arnold Jacobs and was also coached once by the inventor of the Breath Builder. In many cases, these devices can do more harm than good without an overall understanding of physiology in relation to woodwind/brass performance.
My cat ran out of the room as soon as you started playing. Usually, when I play my trombone, she just hides in the closet, but for this, she was out the door. Of course, that was only the "Before" playing. I'll try the "After" playing on her and see how that goes. If I ever see her again.
Great! Many thanks for sharing it !
love the breath builder
fantastic video, time to forward it to my section

Yes! You should also check out the breathing gym book for specifically working on air capacity and control.
Thank you so much, this was a great video. Have you ever used the Ultrabreathe? Curious to know what you think of it
Ooo, no. I have never heard of that!

Yes, I wish there was more instruction. Do you have any favorite exercises or do’s and don’t’s?

🤣 sorry! Cats generally aren’t big fans of the clarinet.
