How did you learn that in 6 years? I've been playing 7 maybe 8 by now. I don't remember but I haven't learned it no again. I've also not been trying to learn it yet. No I will eventually, but if you could do something like send me a link or something to where you found it. That would be great
If I am honest, this is not the best arrangement of years of playing an instrument. I have been playing saxophone for a while, and I bet I could learn the 10 year song in just a day. But this is great content! Thank you
It's not about the song, although choosing a more advanced one and being good at it will show you're better most likely due to a longer time playing. You can hear the difference in tone, articulation, and just overall how each person played their piece and whether they showed that they had good technique or not.
@Blaze-fn7kmthe embouchure does NOT help him go higher, that’s actually a trombone embouchure and the corners being set downward is meant to help control low notes
@THY_LEMON_LORD They are similar but euphoniums are slightly bigger and sometimes can have a 4th valve whereas baritones are smaller and always have just 3 valves.
A fun vid... I've been playing trumpet for 36 years... Teaching for over 24 years. Still love it... For those curious in my playing search for Quello Que Era Una Volta by Adrian Smith wherever you stream from...
As a trumpet whos been playing for 1 month and a half the Dvoraks 9th symphony and pirates of the Caribbean i play in band and i learned trumpet on my own
I think the years of playing doesnt matter that much. Its about practicing and talent (unlike to piano or violin more talent than practicing). I have over 16 years experience ;)
i'm not a trumpet player i'm a flute player but i've played for about 8 months in band & i can play level 2 band music (the one i'm playing right now is the spinning wheel by elton E Burgstahler i saw a preview on google), tequila, wii theme song, super mario intro, despacito, and a few other random songs
I'm a trumpet player on year 8 now, and I'm pretty sure I could play more than half of those before year four and I probably could've learned both 16-year clips within the last three years.
Okey, after 2 years of playing i played as good as the guy that played for 16 years. For me it was so easy, so i stopped to practice, not until I started to play in more professional setting I understood I actually stoped to progress in my playing, didnt get as good as Håkan Hardenberger or these great trumpeter soloists. I guess i did Kinda fall on my fave when I started to play the trumpet in gymnasium (college)
I have been playing trumpet for 6 years, and I definitely have more to improve, but I can say I'm pretty good in my section. Am I the best in my section? No, absolutely not. There's a kid who is literally the goat, playing super high above the staff stuff all the time, heck, he should be in the band above what he's currently in.
@@plaguedoctor9512 I've gotten better at reading high above the staff. Thankfully none of my music goes above the C (or at least if I'm playing first part).
I don't think the number of years of practice is a good measure. I did 5 years of trumpet but at the beginning I didn't play much, so 2 years later I had a mediocre level, about the same as the 2nd guy who did 0.5 years. But now that I'm playing a lot more, and I think I'm at the same level as the guy who plays the Bolero, I can reach high C. So in 3 years I've managed to reach the same level as the guy who played for 5 years, because I worked several hours a day. Everyone goes at their own pace ^^
I advise working on the fundamental such as long tone and scales. Don't focus too much on the buzzing part, focus on using your lips to find that sweet spot where it's neither too flat or sharp and focus on keeping a consistent air flow
I can help, my recommendation is if you already been playing seven years and have practiced regularly you should have a good embrouchure built. Check to make sure your trumpets spit valve is cleaned out regularly and that your valves are oiled as well. If you have any treatment on your teeth such as braces that could be a other thing. One thing you might be doing is trying some of the harder stuff and messing up. Make sure you work one day at a time one lighter things and work your way up. Here's what your biggest issue could be. If you are not regularly putting on chap stick then that can severely affect your trumpet player easily. That makes less lip go into the trumpet and make it sound bad. Make sure you take good care of your lips. Medicated chap stick is the good stuff. I don't think you are a bad trumpet player especially for seven years. I just don't think you are doing the right things to help. Do lip exercises such as long tones soft then loud then soft tones and lip slur exercises. This will really help your lips strengthen and build a good high register. This will give good notes. Also if you have been playing for 7 years and still have the same trumpet maybe that is the issue and you could need a new one. I believe you are better than you think and don't let that self doubt destroy you. Keep things even and practice every day. Don't stress. Work your way up.
I am honestly surprised that there's someone who learned arabesque. After 6 years of playing, I've been playing 7 and I haven't learned that 1. No. I've also not been trying to learn it. So I guess it's also a little bit of my fault. But whatever arabesque is a fun song. And I do want to learn it

Yeah while I happened to have a natural talent (I honestly never practice as rigorouslyas I should have due to laziness), In 6 years time I was sounding like the 14 years video and I didn't even have a trumpet player teach me to play. I'm not saying everyone should or can progress at the speed I did but I do feel that they are under performing. I can’t help but see these comparisons as a little bit flawed. I can see comparisons between larger jumps, like 1-5-10-15 years, especially if from similar backgrounds. But when you are looking at a year to year scale, with more frequent practice a 2 year player can be better than a 2 or 4 year player. The 2 year player here, for instance, played with much better tone, articulation, and cleanliness than 3 or 4 years.
